What specific problem are you solving?
Only 1 in 4 clinicians in the US are equipped with the knowledge to treat transgender patients, meaning that the majority of 2.6 million transgender individuals do not have access to life-saving affirming care. Our healthcare system was only built for cisgender individuals, leaving the transgender population to face higher risks for worse physical and mental health outcomes – 1 in 2 transgender individuals will attempt suicide in their lifetimes. Not providing trans patients with affirming care also costs the US healthcare system more than $20B per year.
At the same time, clinicians are overwhelmed by fragmented and unreliable resources, lacking a trustworthy platform to build their knowledge. Trans patients often fill in those gaps themselves, spending hundreds of hours educating their own doctors.
This is not a matter of intent, but of infrastructure. We built Trans Health HQ to solve the systems-level failures in clinical education, decision support, and credentialing; so that affirming care becomes the norm, not the exception.
What is your solution?
Trans Health HQ is a web-based, AI-enabled clinical education and credentialing platform that equips clinicians to deliver affirming, evidence-based care to trans patients - at scale.
Our NLP-powered clinical decision support chatbot gives providers real-time, context-aware answers before and during appointments. Meanwhile, our adaptive learning engine highlights CME-accredited content based on specialty, clinical context, and identified knowledge gaps.
Once trained, providers can pursue certification through our community-informed assessment process, signaling their competence and allyship via a digital credential.
Certified clinicians can be matched to patients based on location, insurance, and care needs, bridging a massive supply-demand gap in affirming care. All tools are built from rigorously curated guidelines and co-designed with over 300 trans patients and 500+ clinicians.
We go beyond training - building the infrastructure for a scalable, sustainable standard of care. Endorsed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, we currently serve over 300 clinicians with a 500-person waitlist and growing demand from provider networks, payers, and state agencies.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
33% of clinicians refused treatment to trans patients, and 25% of the trans population did not seek healthcare for fear of mistreatment – leading to 9x risk of suicide attempts and 5x risk of living with HIV vs. the US population. Trans Health HQ mends the fractured patient-provider relationship by holding clinicians to trans patients’ expectations for care, and thus serving both groups: clinicians who want to improve the care they provide to trans patients, and trans people seeking care from clinicians who are informed and accountable.
This improves the trans community’s physical and mental health outcomes with increased social support in the healthcare setting, access to medical affirmation, and care-seeking behavior. THHQ minimizes the disproportionate burden of trans health education and advocacy on trans patients and LGBT+ clinicians, by increasing all clinicians’ agency and competency in this field – focusing their power and privilege to more effectively and sustainably advance trans health equity.
