What specific problem are you solving?
Less than 10% of Nigerians have health insurance, forcing the majority of the population to pay out-of-pocket for healthcare services and essential medicines. This financial burden exacerbates the already overwhelming social and economic challenges many families face. Nigeria's healthcare system is further strained by a fragmented and opaque pharmaceutical supply chain, which worsens in rural and underserved areas, drastically limiting access to genuine, affordable medicines. Most Nigerians depend on retail pharmacies and patent medicine vendors for healthcare. However, the majority of these outlets operate without proper inventory management systems, resulting in frequent stock-outs, inaccurate inventory records, medicine expirations, and significant revenue losses. These contribute directly to irrational medicine use, substandard drugs, and poor treatment outcomes—problems that are most acute in rural communities where access to quality care is already limited. Urban pharmacies struggle to track demand patterns, while those in peri-urban and rural areas are often isolated from reliable suppliers. Furthermore, pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, and donors lack access to real-time data, making it impossible to accurately forecast patient needs or ensure accountability in the distribution of medicines. We are solving problems in pharma distribution inefficiencies, exacerbating the burden of preventable and treatable diseases across the country.

The Advantage is our proprietary pharmacy management software uniquely designed to address the broken links in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical supply chain and ensure that patients have reliable access to medicines from trusted sources. Unlike traditional systems, The Advantage enables retail pharmacies to track their inventory in real-time, manage sales, and gain direct access to trustworthy suppliers, ensuring they never run out of critical stock. The Advantage’s unique centralized system connects all pharmacies within a network allowing owners/managers to easily monitor stock levels, track expiry dates, and seamlessly reorder medicines based on actual demand. With automated inventory management, it significantly reduces stock-outs, waste, and the risk of mismatched inventory, thereby improving patient care and pharmacy revenue. The Advantage operates even in areas with limited internet access, due to cloud-based technology, SMS, and mobile apps. Even remote pharmacies remain connected and operational. It integrates with a larger distribution network, offering real-time data dashboards that empower key partners, such as pharma manufacturers, distributors, HMOs, NGOs and government agencies, to track medicine distribution, forecast demand, disease patterns and pinpoint supply gaps. The entire pharmaceutical supply chain becomes more responsive to the needs of underserved communities, ensuring that essential medicines are always available.

The Advantage primarily serves retail pharmacies across Nigeria, both in urban and rural areas. These pharmacies are often the first point of contact for millions of Nigerians seeking healthcare, but they face significant challenges such as manual processes, poor inventory control, and unreliable access to medicines. It addresses these issues by enabling pharmacies to run more efficient, transparent, and profitable operations. By helping pharmacies track stock levels, avoid expired products, and restock on time, the solution directly enhances both their business sustainability and service quality. The impact extends far beyond just the pharmacies: • Patients and communities benefit from improved access to genuine medicines, fewer stock-outs, and more reliable treatment, especially in underserved areas. • HMOs and healthcare innovators can now source genuine medicines faster, improving care for their clients. • Pharma manufacturers and distributors gain real-time visibility into product availability and uptake, allowing them to plan better and ensure accountability in the distribution process. • Governments and policymakers can access anonymized data to inform public health strategies, forecast medicine demand, and ensure equitable distribution of essential medicines across the country.
