What specific problem are you solving?
The core problem The Accelerator addresses is the persistent gap between demand for STEAM-skilled workers and educators' capacity to deliver high-quality, inclusive STEAM instruction.
SCALE AND IMPACT: STEAM occupations are projected to grow by 8% through 2029, with median wages of $86,980 versus $39,810 for all occupations. Yet elementary teachers feel far less prepared to teach science and engineering compared to reading.
EQUITY CRISIS: Women comprise nearly half the workforce but only 27% of STEAM workers. Hispanic workers represent 8% of STEAM professionals despite being 17% of the broader workforce. Access barriers disproportionately affect Black, Latino, Native American students, girls, and students with disabilities.
RESOURCE GAPS: Half of all U.S. children lack access to resources needed for STEAM education. 90% of high-income schools offer physics versus only 43% of low-income schools.
CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: Teachers receive fragmented training without ongoing support. Previous STEAM attempts are "haphazard" and lack intentional planning. Effective professional development must go beyond one-time interventions, which seldom work sustainably.
PEOPLE AFFECTED: 25+ million K-8 students and 1.7 million teachers need comprehensive STEAM support, with disproportionate impact on 15+ million underrepresented students.
What is your solution?
The Accelerator is a web-based platform that transforms how K-12 educators implement arts-integrated STEAM instruction through our proprietary CPR Model: Curriculum, Professional Development, and Resources.
WHAT IT DOES: The platform provides standards-aligned arts-integrated lessons, just-in-time professional development videos, and downloadable classroom resources in one integrated system. Teachers access everything needed to confidently deliver STEAM instruction that uses the arts as tools for improving student outcomes in reading and math.
HOW IT WORKS (TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE): Built on WordPress with LearnDash LMS, WPFusion CRM integration, and product experience software that tracks user engagement and personalizes learning paths.
IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS:
* Teachers complete an assessment quiz to receive personalized "Success Path"
* Access curriculum library with lesson plans, assessments, and student materials
* Complete aligned professional development (IACET-accredited for CEUs)
* Download supporting resources and classroom tools
* Receive ongoing support from dedicated School Success Manager
AI-POWERED SUPPORT: Integrated "Creativity Coach" uses artificial intelligence to generate custom arts-integrated activities based on specific grade, content, and art form requests.
DATA-DRIVEN PERSONALIZATION: Platform analytics inform quarterly coaching sessions, track implementation fidelity, and customize professional development recommendations based on usage patterns.
Currently serving 2,500+ educators reaching 25,000+ students across 45+ school partnerships with proven scalability through cloud-based architecture.

Target Population: K-12 Educators and Their Students in Under-Resourced Communities
PRIMARY BENEFICIARIES:
* K-12 Teachers in schools lacking comprehensive STEAM professional development, particularly in high-poverty communities, rural districts, and schools serving significant populations of students of color. These educators want to provide engaging STEAM instruction but lack training, curriculum, and ongoing support.
*Students (Ages 5-18) in these classrooms, prioritizing populations historically underrepresented in STEAM: girls, Black and Latino students, English learners, and students with disabilities. Women comprise only 27% of STEAM workers despite being nearly half the workforce.
CURRENTLY UNDER-SERVICED:
* Teachers receive fragmented, one-time professional development without curriculum alignment. Previous STEAM attempts are "haphazard" and lack intentional planning. When teachers lack sufficient content knowledge and confidence, student learning is significantly hindered.
* Students face inequitable access to STEAM courses due to funding inequities, educator bias, and systemic tracking barriers.
SOLUTION IMPACT:
The Accelerator provides:
- Comprehensive CPR Model (curriculum, professional development, resources) in one platform
- Personalized learning paths meeting teachers' skill levels
- School Success Manager support ensuring sustained implementation
- Affordable access ($399/year versus $1,500+ for traditional teaching artists)
- Standards-aligned content helping all students see themselves as capable STEAM practitioners
