What specific problem are you solving?
Cancer is the second leading driver of healthcare costs globally, projected to impose a $25 trillion economic burden by 2050. The core issue is the diagnostic gap: 80% of patients lack access to effective early screening, resulting in over 70% of cases being diagnosed at late stages. At this phase, survival rates plummet, and treatment costs skyrocket by 10x. In Brazil, this gap is acute due to fragmented diagnostic pathways and infrastructure barriers. Traditional screening relies on expensive hardware (e.g., imaging) or high-cost genomics (Liquid Biopsy >$800 USD), which are unscalable in resource-constrained settings. Consequently, millions are left behind by a system designed for reactive crisis management rather than proactive prevention. Huna addresses this by utilizing the routine blood tests patients already take to bridge the gap between risk identification and clinical diagnosis.
What is your solution?
Huna delivers the Huna Cancer Navigator, an end-to-end AI platform that transforms the world's most accessible medical test—the routine Complete Blood Count (CBC)—into a scalable cancer screening engine. Our solution operates through a "High-Tech, High-Touch" approach powered by Deep Learning: - Smart Triage: Trained on a longitudinal dataset of 5 million patients, our proprietary algorithms analyze non-linear patterns in existing blood data to accurately stratify risk for five primary cancers (Breast, Colorectal, Lung, Prostate, and Cervical). This software-only model requires zero new hardware, leveraging the infrastructure labs already in place. - Automated Navigation: To ensure diagnostic adherence, our platform automates the "last mile" of care. Using intelligent chatbots and clinical protocols, it proactively engages high-risk patients, guiding them from the initial risk alert to the confirmatory biopsy. Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Huna empowers the "invisible majority" within the fragmented healthcare system, especially populations excluded from effective screening due to infrastructure barriers. Our active deployments already cover over 500,000 lives in Brazil, targeting individuals at risk for Breast, Colorectal, Cervical, Lung, and Prostate cancers. Currently, these groups rely on reactive care models that depend on scarce, high-cost hardware, which systematically lead to late-stage diagnoses. Huna transitions this to an anticipatory model. By applying "population sensing" to ubiquitous routine blood data, we democratize access and actively navigate high-risk patients through the care continuum. This approach reduces diagnostic delays by 30%, shifting the patient trajectory from costly crisis management to timely curative intervention.
