Awareness Training on SDGs for Local Government

Local government must play significant role, for ensuring proper implementation of SDGs. But local government representative of Bangladesh have not knowledge on this field. And our government also haven't provide any training on SDGs for making awareness among local government representatives.

We are planning to provide awareness training for 4556 Union Parishad Chairmen for raising their capability of achieving SDGs.

Through this awareness building, UP chairmen will be capable to utilize its own resources for ensuring sustainable development of rural community of Bangladesh.

"Leave no one behind" is the theme of SDGs and government has to play vital role for achieving SDGs. But big part of local government representatives specially UP Chairmen of  our country are mainly lower educated who do not have any concrete idea on current development practices. Our government are working for achieving SDGs in the urban area. But 80 person people of our country live in rural area of Bangladesh who are actually deprived from benefit of SDGs because of lack of knowledge of local government representative in this field. By building awareness among UP chairmen, will will help them to utilize local resources for ensuring poverty alleviation, quality education, well being and healthy life, gender equality, water-sanitation, environmental safety and security, sustainable livelihood and etc. for rural people of Bangladesh which are committed by government to UN.       

This initiative will be benefited for all rural people but directly 4556 UP chairmen will be directly beneficiaries of this program. This program will help UP chairmen for preparing budget and implementing it for actual development of rural people by bringing them under field of SDGs.

We will provide training for 152 batches. In every batches, 30 UP chairman will be included. This program will be implemented with the cooperation with local government ministry and UNO office.
