What specific problem are you solving?
Sweeping healthcare budget cuts: H.R. 1—the "One Big Beautiful Bill"—cut $911 billion from Medicaid over ten years, decimating the budgets of the hospitals, health plans, and community clinics that serve the lowest-income communities in America. Even as this application is submitted, the federal government withheld $1.4 billion in Medicaid payments to the state of California alone. These cuts are not abstract. They are eliminating the workforce capacity to serve the most vulnerable patients. This impacts our work in two ways: 1) Governments and health systems have $911 billion in cuts that prevent them from hiring the staff needed to support the families they serve. 2) These laws increased the administrative workload for all governments and health systems while simultaneously cutting their budgets. They must now support more people with even fewer dollars, and the workforce to do this work does not exist.
What is your solution?
ThriveLink's telephonic AI agents talk to families over the phone and complete social work paperwork without the need for the internet, a smartphone, or the ability to read. Our digital platform also turns social services into a shopping experience that makes it easier for families to access programs without understanding government jargon. Last year, 96% of users who answered all program questions reached an outcome, and a recent 12-state study had a 78% user engagement rate.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Today there are only two ways to get assistance with healthcare and social services. 1) You can read and comprehend things on your own and navigate the process yourself. 2) You can walk, drive, or take the bus to a physical location, wait in line, and meet with someone who can help you—Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. For most people who work, that means missing work or finding childcare. ThriveLink creates a third option. Families can get the same access they would in person, over the phone with an AI agent that can process the exact same applications, programs, and follow-ups as an in-person visit. For families, it opens a new world of accessibility. For organizations, it's 60 to 80% cheaper than hiring additional staff.
