The Noble Savage
Waste Mismanagement - Solid waste management is one of the socio-economic challenges plaguing the continent of Africa and the world.South America tends to produce around 16% of the world's solid waste with over 120 million tons per year . Waste production is directly proportional to the ever growing population, hence the need for adequate measures to circumvent this problem.
Housing Deficiency - Apart from waste,Currently, one in three families in Latin America and the Caribbean, or 59 million people, live in dwellings that are either unsuitable for habitation or are built with poor materials and lack basic infrastructure services. With infrastructural development largely contributing to environmental degradation, how these houses are constructed matters. In addition to environmental implications, housing construction is also a costly endeavor, preventing low-income communities from having decent homes.
Energy Shortage - 34 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean lack access to modern electricity.
Currently, one in three families in Latin America and the Caribbean, or 59 million people, live in dwellings that are either unsuitable for habitation or are built with poor materials and lack basic infrastructure services. As many as 2 million out of the 3 million households that spring up annually in Latin American cities are forced to settle in informal housing, such as slums, because of insufficient supply of adequate and affordable.
Latin america produces about 5% of the worlds plastic
waste plastic energy and affordable are the contributing factors to our solution
Waste Mismanagement - Solid waste management is one of the socio-economic challenges plaguing the continent . low public awareness, and corruption amongst other hindrances. Waste production is directly proportional to the ever growing population, hence the need for adequate measures to circumvent this problem.
Housing Deficiency - Apart from waste, they is a housing shortage . To address this shortage. In addition to environmental implications, housing construction is also a costly endeavor, preventing low-income communities from having decent homes.
Energy Shortage - Over the past decade, there has been facing an electricity shortage predicament which halts economic activity and prevents the average citizen from leading a normal life.
As The Noble Savage, we aim at providing creative and sustainable business solutions to problems that are affecting our communities and beyond. Our initiative’s efforts include facilitating climate action and environmental protection through waste management. Given that waste is one of Africa’s major challenges, our services include producing building material from recycled glass and plastic waste to foster affordable and recyclable building practices.
We are guided by principles which can be summed up by the numbers 1,3,5.
One: Operating as one unified company is conducive to our best work
Three: We report from three vantage points
Planet
People
Profit.
Five: We focus on five of the critical Sustainable Development Goals which are:
Affordable and Clean Energy
Decent Work and Economic Growth Industry
Innovation and Infrastructure
Responsible Consumption
Production Climate Action
Waste Mismanagement - We recycle non-biodegradable waste to produce eco-friendly building products such as solar roof tiles, roof tiles, countertops and ridges. These materials are lighter, stronger and durable relative to their normal counterparts.
Housing Deficiency - We provide affordable housing products which are instrumental in reducing building costs by up to 30%. Apart from being environmentally friendly, these products have a 0.01 rate of breakage. This means that less material is lost during the construction process, thereby rendering them a more affordable source. By providing affordable building material, we help solve the housing problem for Zimbabwe and Africa’s growing young population.
Energy - Most communities in Africa use electricity that is generated through coal combustion. This is a harsh process that releases a range of pollutants including sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, and a range of heavy metals. Besides coal generated electricity, the use of firewood in most Zimbabwean communities has resulted in increased desertification and altered biodiversity. The Noble Savage addresses that challenge by providing sustainable energy through our solar roof tile, which is integrated with solar cells that generate about 30 watts of electricity each, providing enough energy to sustain a household’s electricity needs.
- Reduce single-use plastics and waste through promoting consumer behavior change and incentivizing re-use and recycling
- Enable the public sector, especially municipalities, to pilot and implement new and innovative systems in their waste management
