Sisimua Food Storage

Every year, over 2 billion tonnes of food worth over $2.6 Trillion go to waste due to several reasons, the primary reason being lack of storage. The Sisimua solution is to offer shared Food storage using refrigerated and dry shipping containers that will be located next to the local markets throughout the African Continent. The dry containers will be used for storage of non-perishable dry foods such as legumes, corn [maize], wheat and others. The refrigerated containers will be for storage of perishable horticultural, meat, fish and some dairy products. The farmers and traders will have access to the storage areas on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Problem: The amount of market produce that goes to waste is astronomical, annually over 2 billion tonnes of food which represents almost a third of the total food produced globally. This results in global food insecurity and perpetuates poverty.

Solution: Shared food Storage solutions at the local markets. No long term storage contracts, storage on a need to basis.

It will serve small holder farmers and traders who will have access to affordable food storage close to their markets at affordable prices that will result in better returns due to less wastage.
