Data VS COVID-19

Universal data collection or database that can be used to record medical condition of peoples who has been infected with one or multiple times to have understanding of the time duration of immunity after first diagnosis. 

At this uncertain time there is big question raised by the general public that scientist all over the world have no answer to which is “how long the immune system of a COVID-19 infected and recovered patient will last in order to be infected multiple times?” This is because there have been reports that patients who have been recovered from the COVID-19 have been found positive for the second time in china and Japan and it is clear that if it happens to one person it will be likely to happen to everyone else. Beside this uncertainty, theoretically your symptom when you are infected for the first time and the second or the third will not be the same in the strength and rate or duration because the virus can stay dormant and we do not know when it will start attacking your body at what level of your immunity running low.  So to answer these critical questions we need massive data in numbers like body condition before symptom, at symptom, at diagnosis, after diagnosis, at recovery, after recovery for the first and second or third time of infection.  Using this statistics we can have clear understanding of the virus.  

This project is about developing universal data collection or database that can be used to record medical condition of peoples who has been infected with one or multiple times to have understanding of the time duration of immunity after first diagnosis. This will help on understanding if there is change of symptom when you have it more than once, how long will the immunity system last, how long does the COVID-19 stay dormant, does the dormancy of the COVID-19 relates with the level of immunity of your body, does genetics play role in duration of immunity after first infection and recovery, the strength of symptom per time after first recovery and many more answers. If this data is not in mass number it will not give good and reliable data we can trust and the data needs to be global to answer if geography is one factor. Each first time recovered person will have an account that will enable him/her log and record his/her body condition on daily basis and if that patient is found to be infected with the coronavirus for the second time we can have a complete data to understand the doubt we have at this time.   

According to recent reports, there are now fears that the coronavirus could be contracted more than once after a woman in her 40s in Osaka, Japan tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time. The second positive test of coronavirus has also been reported in China. This is very alarming because there is no clear and reliable knowledge due to the fact that there is no data to have clear understanding.  

This project aligns with the challenge because it focuses on the Coronavirus crisis of the world.
