Health Crises Preparedness (HCP)
Our project (Health Crises Preparedness - HCP) aims to prepare the population on how to deal with adversities and unexpected situations related to emerging pandemics and health security threats trough Preparedness trainings and Community Engagement. It promotes campaigns to raise awareness as an important way to reduce mental health problems during these contexts and face many adverse realities on Healthcare system. This is the main reason why the Preparedness Plan is not a solution for one health threat or pandemics such as the COVID-19, but it can reduce many future problems and avoid the effects of the healthcare system crisis worldwide.
Health misinformation is very common; however, individuals, businesses, NGOs and local governmental-bodies can raise awareness of possible adversities such as diseases, healthcare crisis and pandemics. That is why personal and community preparedness can also solve the problem of lack of information faced in new realities, since, for example, the scientists and governments have shown that sometimes there is not a known solution for every health problem. Thus, it is important to have a cooperation among public and private sectors to help target groups like children and low-income families and to promote mental health campaigns reducing stress and psychological problems after episodes like the COVID-19 pandemics. By that, it is necessary to take action before the crisis comes, and raising awareness and informing local communities are needed to also face fake news and unofficial data. Therefore, Healthcare workers, alumni, school board, and their parents and relatives constitute the target group to prepare communities and individuals before facing those different realities considering both Basic and Higher Education and Healthcare system. Because of it, it is especially through Education that the new people can learn how to face this scenario.
Our project is focused on healthcare system, universities, and schools to raise awareness and to reduce the psychological impact and misinformation of pandemics and health threats in healthcare workers, children, school staff, Higher Education staff and students, and their families. Our solution includes two key points: (1) We provide an online platform where Healthcare workers, Basic and Higher Education students, academic and administrative staff can take online courses about Health Crises Preparedness on psychological problems, Healthcare system crisis, approaches focused on target groups and preparing for the worst-case scenario. The Preparedness Plan aims to prepare the Educational system to have e-learning alternatives, support students on their studies and psychologically, and staff on their teaching skills, and planning to face the worst-case scenario. (2) We develop on-site trainings for the Higher Education students to get new volunteers. These trainings on Community Preparedness Plan aim to understand the adverse situations during a Health crisis and the role played by volunteers to promote campaigns and Community engagement. They are prepared to share information to face Healthcare Crises and mental health problems in their communities. Considering these actions together, they strengthen the personal and community preparedness and engagement increasing resilience and well-being.
Anyone from students, to nurses and doctors who are looking for personal preparedness about Health Crises. Besides, any volunteers, educational or health centers that want to establish a community preparedness plan on their locations, what can benefit communities through our solution. Addressing trustworthy information and trainings can reduce the impact of Health misinformation and increase the preparedness of communities and individuals in the face of Health crises. That is why this solution will impact their lives through an approach where anyone who is from educational and health systems and is interested on Preparedness Plan on Health Crises can access the online platform or learn on-site, understand how to deal with it and share their knowledge. Furthermore, communities are impacted due to the community engagement strengthened by college students’ campaigns. All these actions create a network of safe and reliable information, and preparedness plans according to the individuals’ and communitarian needs, what will allow people to see critically how Health crises happen, what they can do to face them in an easier and less harmful way, and to avoid the worst-case scenario. We are looking to raise awareness and promote a network of stakeholders that is accessible and has trustworthy information.
The problem of Health misinformation associated with the lack of
personal and community preparedness to face adverse scenarios can be reduced through Health Crises Preparedness . Thus, this solution focuses on the target population linked to the health and educational systems aiming to prepare communities and to respond to emerging pandemics and health security threats. We believe that is the most accessible and tangible solution to maintain the quality of life, and to detect and mitigate health system problems before these critical scenarios come, since it is important to make people aware of what can happen.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new application of an existing technology
We perceived that the competitors do not develop an approach related to Health Crises preparedness and actions that can bring real change. For example, they mostly associated their projects with the COVID-19 pandemics or just like "FindOurHealth", which considers mainly technological aspects and possibilities of change related to data analysis in an online platform. However, where is the main key which can lead humans to take action and change our social contexts without just observing the robots doing our job? Where are the real changemakers? That is why we need to see that solutions must have a technological approach, but also with people aiming to bring social impact and observing this reality in person. We combine both sides, technologies and humans, and we believe that Health Crises Preparedness (HCP) is the main way to achieve the change and to avoid the worst-case scenario. It's trough Community and Personal Preparedness on Health Crises that we will definitely begin a revolution and make people aware and prepared for adverse realities. We understand that technologies must be used to raise awareness, and must not come after all those bad effects happen, which is unfortunately what the other ideas such as "FindOurHealth" have been shown. That is why our solution is unique and an important key for a real change!
Our solution provides on-site and online training on Community and Personal Preparedness on Healthcare System crisis, besides psychological problems, approaches which are focused on target groups as hospitals and schools staffs, besides children and youths. We aim to prepare them to face the worst-case scenario with a good mindset and to reduce negative effects caused by critical times like today's world. We believe that it is through preparedness that we can face these moments united and stronger than ever and that is why we will keep fighting to expand our technologies for another places. In this way, our solution is low-cost and can strongly impact communities worldwide.
Our technology works just as hilighted especially by USA government and World Health Organization.

I believe that the right to health is the basic condition to have a life with dignity. Therefore, as result of seeing this right in practice, people can acess education as an important way to know about how they can face critical challenges on global Health. Preparing Healthcare system and Basic Education workers allow us to think about positive horizons even in the face of the darkest moments. We need to also see that preparing children since their early ages is something necessary to build a society with more hope in the future and that knows how to convert challenges into opportunities insofar as health crises affect the way people live, for example, we may think about how many psycological problems we can develop during these times and also about the fact that our financial conditions, workout activities, and future plans can be stopped through times like nowadays. Thus, we need to prepare people to know that everything is going to be alright if they understand how to act, how to help and how they can keep their minds in peace.

Until now we are only testing our idea. However, we expect that our solution can serve 1.7 millions of people in the next year. In five years, we hope to provide the platform everywhere and that at least 30 millions may be impacted by our Health preparedness plan.
We need to find more financial resources to make our platform suitable and to even pay the costs of producing new technologies within it. However, we expect that our solution can impact many countries through our Health preparedness plan, and that is why we aim to focus on producing basic courses on Health Crises Preparedness in another languages besides English.
Lack of financial and human resources.
Expanding our network and especially keep contacting companies that may be interested about our actions to make the world a Healthful place!

We have been working in the field of Human Rights and we have seen how important it is to provide a good health for the new generations. For instance, I have collaborated with a Cameroonian NGO and we could develop project on Basic Sanitation. After all, we think that health is everywhere and is an essential human right that allows people to have more rights. If we do not have acess to a good health, how can we live with good life conditions?
At this moment we are working with two organizations from Brazil and which I am especially partenering in the field of Children's Rights. For example, I have been looking for possible measures that we can implement to facilitate the communication between students, school staff and governamental bodies in the Basic Education.
