Prototype of Innovative Face Masks intended for extended use in general population. New techniques to remove pollutants, harmful virus and pathogens, via electromagnetic applications. Reusable safe masks that reduce environmental impact from use. Will elaborate study on penetration of virus and pathogens in masks, focused on the current situation will test for effectiveness on SARS -CoV2, humidity studies to stablish droplets protection and effectivity in aerosols.
Almost 7 million people have already got contaminated, Medical Staff need 99% effectivity to ensure safety, however the best they can access is 95%, or disposable masks with 70% effectivity.
Studies will made in specialized reference laboratories to ensure virus and pathogens removal. Prototypes to be marketable will be elaborated. Global markets could be reached effectively in 6 months period. Scalable solution to solve current crisis issues. Also. materials will be selected so the environmental impact of long-term usage of disposable masks is reduced.
During the current SARS-CoV2 crisis (known as Coronavirus CoVid-19) people are required to wear face masks. Approximately a Billion people do have access to disposable, safe masks. (1/7th of the world population)
Masks are supposed to be disposable, however people are reusing, recycling (not necessarily in a hygienic, safe way)
Disposable masks are already arriving at water sources, providing a new source of contamination.
Prices of Facemask skyroketed the first month, also they got
- Novotel and N95 protection equipment went from US$20 to US$40 dollars in Amazon in the last months.
- Disposable masks still range in the US$0.30 to US$3.00 a piece, with late deliveries or expiration dates past due.
- Effectiveness of market available mask range between 40% to 95%.
The prototype could be scaled worldwide for several applications, during this crisis, it could prove to be an asset in the fight against the virus. Initial prototype cost is between US$2.00-US$5.00. Potential to scale and reduce costs during mass production. This could provide a safe alternative to disposable masks in the market, that could impact positively the outcomes from mask usage in the long term.

The solution will provide a cost effective way to provide protection to general public also, which in turn will contribute to stop the spread of this and the subsequent bio hazards.
The device, also low cost, will provide accesible equipment to health personnel, that as of now, lacks the necessary equipment, due to high costs, availability and will reduce the environmental impact of disposable masks and personal protection equipment currently in use.
We have an international team, of trained students and researchers to build and test the prototypes. Our team has experience designing, building, testing and operating prototypes at the highest standards of security in US Department of Energy facilities. Also, we have access to Certified Laboratories to test the prototypes with live pathogens to ensure effectiveness of the proposed masks.

The challenge focuses on Health and Pandemics. Our solution will provide a safe and effective way in which personnel will be protected beyond the current capabilities. With confidence they will know that the virus has been deactivated,not only placed on their personal equipment, which ends on a dump, water body, and in the end pollutes the ocean. Thus becomes an environmental issue, and a public health hazard to have used masks around.

The use of fundamental concepts of electrostatics allows us to effectively deactivate the pathogens, thus improving the fight against viruses, but also making every person able to stop the spread of the virus.
Masks and personal protective equipment already available in the market is inssuficient at this time to ensure deactivation, thus every single equipment after use becomes a focus of infection. If disposed improperly could represent a biohazard and a hazard to the environment, thus making the exposition exponential and spreading further the virus. Our technology allows the disposed equipment to be safe, and users can have peace of mind at the same time as having an economicallty feasible product that will protect them and their families.
It uses electrostatic methods to ensure deactivation. It is a new use of existent technology that could grow to be used in other applications as well to effectively sanitize equipment and to ensure that pathogens are not spread out further by improper disposal of used materials.
It's rechargeable sources allows it to be used freely and safely for over a year's period. It will have a positive impact on local economies since it will not requiere to be constantly changing or buying new equipment, but the same one could be reused, being environmentally friendly.
Our recent studies show we have an innovation that works. We have worked over the studies done since 2007 on the SARS electromagnetic properties as cited in doi:10.1128/JVI.00969-07.
Our prototype is now under testing and will be tested with live pathogens in the next months for further improvements and to scale the prototype. Our goal is to reach mass production.

Our prototype is still in production, we seek to test it in 1000 units before the end of August. By that time we could expand exponentially and hire more personnel to produce numbers in the reach of 100,000 units.
By the end of the First year our goal is to have 1,000,000 units working.
In Five years time, the minimun goal we set is to have 20,000,000 units working and expanding operations with a set or permanent personnel and an expanded base of operations.
We look to be able to mass produce initially in six months in the 100,000 units, fully tested and improved.
By the end of the first year we seek 1,000,000 units, that implies 1,000,000 person achieved the goal to help stop the spread of harmful pathogens including influenza, SARSCoV2, tuberculosis and others, that at this time still endanger and reduce the quality of life of citizens around the world. By the end of next year our facilities will have improved, since we need to upgrade our equipment to be able to properly conduct further testing and develop new prototypes and products.
In the five year horizon we seek to have a minimun staff of 100 permanent workers, with fully upgraded facilities. These will allow us to create a new set of equipment for personal protection and for health personnel.
Primarly funding to improve our prototypes and hire permanent staff. We need to improve our equipment, since testing outsourced increases our costs.
We also need to improve facilities to be able to mass produce locally, so we can impact local economies. This barriers, stop us from marketing the product since april, at the height of the pandemic worldwide. We could have launched the product earlier with proper conditions to mass produce and permanent personnel hired.
Seeking funding or with the incomes from the first batch of products we will use the capital to increase our capabilities slowly but steady.
If we are unable to raise necessary funding, we will use the capital to improve materials, and slow down production as to allow us to properly finance developments. We also hope to patent the product so we can use the revenues to make capital to continue production further.

We seek to impact families, thus a nucleous of at least 4 people by family means at least 4 equipments by household. Considering upper and middle class citizens will like to have several as to include models and fashion statements, this translate in at least 8 by household. In societies like ours, where at least a 1,000,000 household are able to acquiere such equipment by themselves whitout goverment subsides this implies we have at least 8,000,000 equipments to be sold in the next months, financing our introduction in lower markets at cheaper prices and reaching at least another million of households, meaning our market real size is of 12,000,000 in the next 6 months.

We are a group of well stablished researchers, however we need funding to market our product, finish testing and improving our prototype (building material, solution technology) and to properly market it to be successfull.
UN initiatives, US Goverment, MIT initiatives, could help us potentialize the solution and grow exponentially where we alone would take more time.
Our team will test on live pathogens to provide safe equipment for health personnel, providing a solution that deactivates pathogens. This helps stop the spread of disease where at the same time, protects our health care workers who need help in these trying times.
The funding will be used to scale up the product to mass markets and reach more health care providers with the revenues gotten from other sectors, being able to supply health care systems with a low cost effective solution.
Our team will provide safe equipment for women, thus ensuring that they can care for their children, continue working without worries. Also our team strongly encourages women's participation, of the two main researchers involved full time in the project one is female.
This low cost solution can be mass produced at a low cost, making the revenues grow exponential on the very first run.
In the term of three months, all expenses will be covered if we are able to reach markets with mass production. thus means that the 9 months left in the year will make possible to grow revenues exponentially.
