What is your surgical training module?

This is a 3D scan based volumetric assay in healthy volunteers with nasolabial folds related to ageing of the face in AIIMS Rishikesh.A cadaveric study will be done in cadavers to document changes in fat muscle and fascia in folds and creases to replicate the same in designing models to teach residents and target population to learn and acquire skills in placement of fillers in various regions on the face.

This will use Crisalix virtual software to keep track on healthy volunteers.Artec scanner in our aesthetic skill lab will keep a record on changes noted in facial architecture in patients with changes due to ageing or other diseases or following scars.

What specific surgical skills are you teaching?

Psychomotor skills will be identification of major landmarks on cadaver and course of facial artery with its anomalies.Delineation of nasolabial fold anatomy will be done in proposed soft skill stations designed with the help of project designer.

There is a growing need both regionally and globally to look young and be free from the stigma of ageing of the face.This simulation platform will help develop new skill stations for teaching instillation of fillers ,avoiding complications and teach residents to learn these skills in easy virtual format.

Who does your project serve, and in what ways will the project improve their skills?

This project will be a teaching aid in various other institutions to teach instillation of fillers based on a virtual road map and learn soft skills on cadavers or plastinated specimens in future.

This module is for residents and faculty of dermatology,plastic surgery,general surgery,ENT and aesthetic practitioners who wish to sharpen their knowledge and psychomotor skills in facial fillers.

This model will be developed to teach mbbs residents in our institute and online demonstrations with soft skill training can be advocated to advance the knowledge of fillers in various parts of the body.
