1. Access to Covid-19 vaccine is a major problem in Africa especially now when rich countries who have created the vaccines are still trying to get their populations vaccinated.
2. Secondly African governments will not be able to purchase enough vaccines for all their citizens. This will require private sector participation in the procurement and deployment of Covid-19 vaccines once there is surplus supply from vaccine makers.
3. Thirdly even when the vaccine becomes widely availed it will still be a challenge for many to know how to get it from private healthcare providers easily and affordably.
4. Fourthly there will a challenge in vaccine deployment without sufficient data on the willingness of people to get vaccinated.
1. Online Vaccine Enquiry and Processing & In Person Vaccine Enquiry & Processing
People will be able to request for Covid-19 vaccination online on Sokoladawa. The enquiry will contain location information. Healthcare personnel will be dispatched with the tests and vaccines in a cold box.
People will be also able to get vaccinated in person at designated vaccination points.
Vaccinated people will receive regular text message notifications and reminders to their phones about their next vaccination due date.
2. Community Mapping for Vaccine Preparedness
A community mapping exercise may precede the vaccination program for better planning and deployment of the vaccination services. The objective is to build a database of people that would be willing to get tested and/or vaccinated.
Benefits:
- Identify / map areas that would be starting points for Covid-19 vaccine drives.
- Get informed about the approximate number of people that would be willing to get vaccinated in target areas.
- Enable sensitization campaigns via cost effective methods such as text messaging.
3. Additional Target Groups
1. The elderly, disabled and other persons best suited for home based healthcare services
2. Tourists and Travelers
3. Fully engaged Individuals & professionals such as Hotel workers, Factory workers
- Pilot: A project, initiative, venture, or organisation deploying its research, product, service, or business/policy model in at least one context or community
- Internet of Things
- Software and Mobile Applications
Benefits:
1. Rapid update of Covid-19 Vaccines
The partnership if properly executed will enable rapid uptake of vaccines with the objective of getting as many people as possible vaccinated in the shortest time possible to combat the coronavirus before serious mutations occur and to prevent vaccine expiry or reduced efficacy due to exposure and/or poor storage that may be arise due to delayed use.
2. An additional high impact standalone program or a complement to existing programs.
A Covid-19 vaccination program or extension executed as per this Proposal would be of interest to various funding entities and networks who would like to support government efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Covid-19 vaccination is expected to take 3 to 5 years before the pandemic can be fully brought under control.
3. Growth for all the entities in the strategic partnership.
A Covid-19 vaccination program executed as per this Proposal has the potential to bring growth to all the entities in the strategic partnership through the likely disruption caused by extensive use of an online tool such as SokolaDawa to procure Covid-19 tests and vaccines.
The Coronavirus pandemic has caused an unprecedented increase in the use of online tools and e-commerce to procure goods and services.
4. Positive PR and Prominence in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project if executed has the potential to generate prominence in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and surrounding region.
This would apply to the partners who are also players in the healthcare industry and for partners who may like to use this exercise for positive publicity for their identities or brands.
The project will achieve the following:
1. Expand the avenues for Covid-19 vaccination acquisition via home based and mobile healthcare services.
2. Increased capacity has potential to generate partnerships with other healthcare players such as testing laboratories to offer ‘Test & Vaccinate’ services for a more fruitful vaccination campaign. Primacy aid already has existing Service Level agreements with leading Covid-19 testing Labs.
3. The project will generate a massive demand and uptake of both vaccination services towards the fight against Covid-19 Pandemic.
4. Working with a certified and licensed home-based healthcare provider will enhance the consumption of on demand Covid-19 Vaccination for a competitive advantage.
5. Utilization of Information technology will increase the uptake of Covid-19 Testing and Vaccination; hence our concept One Click to Covid-19 vaccine.
