I - Ophthalmology is a smart solution to provide remote patients access to ophthalmic care

“Globally 84.000 patients/year have severe sight loss as a result of waiting long period of time for ophthalmologists" Royal College of Ophthalmology. Waiting time for an ophthalmologist is anything from 3 weeks to 6 months and in an emergency department it is 4-6hrs. I - Ophthalmology therefore, created smart, same day ophthalmology which requires less hands-on time from an individual ophthalmologist whilst meeting the needs of more patients. Our technology, is platform based and captures (anterior and retinal images of the eye, visual acuity testing and medical severity questionnaire) and pre-screens the severity of acute eye conditions in less then 2 minutes, using artificial intelligence, which is then validated by real - time ophthalmologists with a plan of care executed by optometrists.

It is able to provide processing for the anterior image of the eye for over 35 acute eye conditions. 

It is also able to combine severity questionnaire, visual acuity testing as well as anterior and retinal images of the eye for a preliminary summary of condition which is validated by ophthalmologists in the real time

We do not have any population that this solution is currently serving as it is a prototype that has already been de-risked and  is ready to go to clinical trials.
