Invest in you
In Mexico there are different groups in a vulnerable situation, be it social (29.3% of the population), economic (41.9% of poverty)*, ethnic, by age, gender and even by migratory situation. The problem to be solved is to achieve the economic independence of people in vulnerable situations, training them with digital financial tools, so that they can overcome both economically and emotionally. For people to improve themselves, education is important and that is the intention of this project to bring training to those who need it most, on issues that bring them closer to digital finance and economy, through short-term investments.

Invest in you, is an educational project that seeks to bring technological tools related to the digital economy such as investment simulators, Blockchain, use of Big Data to people in vulnerable situation, in order to obtain their economic and financial independence.
There are 3 stages considered:
Short term (3 months, 2 stages) 1) Set up, conditioning the place destined for classes, and course planning. 2) Campaign to disseminate the call and the selection process of the participants. Survey applied to applicants and analysis of the data collected.
Medium term (5 months, 2 stages) 1) The first three months they will be given training, practice in the simulator and evaluation. Two months after the workshop, a contest will be held to identify the potential of each participant. Economic incentives will be given to all of the participants.
Long-term (12 months) It consists of following up with the participants. At this time, recent graduates should start their career as investors. When they begin to generate profits, they will be asked to participate in the remuneration to the program. This consists of contributing a small percentage of their profits to the Invest in You project in order to reinvest in it to support the project.
The project is mainly aimed at different vulnerable sectors of the population who want to improve themselves and acquire knowledge about digital financial and economic activities, with the main objective of achieving their economic independence. The segment of the population that Invests in You focuses on are vulnerable groups, women, the elderly, people with limited resources, indigenous groups, migrants, among others. Considered, groups that require more support and training to obtain their economic independence.
What these groups have in common is that in most cases they are discriminated against by the rest of society, which causes low self-esteem. A clear example is the case of women, it is well known that one of the reasons why women are constantly violated or abused is because they are financially dependent on other people. Hence, our interest is to train and support this sector of the population, to avoid as far as possible that this situation is prolonged and continues to affect them directly and the people around them. We believe that this can be achieved to a large extent through digital, economic and financial education.
Something similar happens to older people, who due to their age and generally without financial solvency, depend on their closest relatives to live. This situation causes psychological conflicts for people but also gives rise to family conflicts. Therefore, many older people suffer from domestic abuse and discrimination due to their age.
If we talk about low-income people, we can mention that in general they do not have access to quality education, which puts them at a disadvantage compared to other sectors of the population. In such a way that receiving an education that helps them to improve themselves and achieve their economic independence is ideal.
A similar case is that of immigrants, who although their situation could be temporary as they manage to settle into a new environment, they are not exempt from the lack of income and discrimination on the part of the countries where they are temporarily or permanently. In their case, having knowledge about the digital economy would be of great help, not only to obtain resources no matter where they are in the world and where their situation is fixed. But it can even open the doors to dedicate themselves to that or find a job related to the subject in the country in which they have decided to settle.
Regarding indigenous groups, we know that for a long time they have suffered discrimination, lack of education, economic scarcity, and many other disadvantages that separate them from the rest of the population. For all of the above, we must be concerned about these groups, supporting them in their overcoming. However, the improvement of these groups must be global, it must include quality education, improvement of their environment, knowing their needs, support in their individual development and as a community. For this reason, training in topics that can provide tools for their economic independence is essential. We believe that with our project we can contribute a lot to this sector of the population.
As part of the project, a survey will be made to all those applicants who participate, this in order to obtain more information about their reality and how we can help to improve their situation through our project.
Initially, the direct beneficiaries will be 20 students from the first generation of Invest in you.
Indirectly, the families of each and every one of the project participants will benefit, as well as the communities in which they live.
Also indirectly, a value chain will be created, from the people who will be exclusively in charge of the project and its different areas, such as coordination, administration, training, assistance and data analysis. In addition to those services that are contracted to carry out the project, such as infrastructure and support equipment for the delivery of the course.
- Equip everyone, regardless of age, gender, education, location, or ability, with culturally relevant digital literacy skills to enable participation in the digital economy.
The problem we want to tackle is to integrate the population in a vulnerable situation into the digital economy. As a solution, we propose to educate them in the necessary technologies so that they obtain the knowledge that allows them to achieve their economic independence. We believe that if you give people quality education, they can use it for their own benefit and they can improve, also improve their way of life and that of the people around them. With the right education you can empower people.
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.
We chose the concept stage because although we have a solid project, we have not had the financial capacity to test it. If we could obtain enough resources to start we are sure that we would obtain very good results and also that this project could be reproduced almost anywhere.
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
Currently there are workshops, courses, diplomas and even contests related to finance and investments in the stock market. Among all the aforementioned modalities there are some that are paid, others are free and in the case of the contest a prize is offered, but to participate you must have prior knowledge.
However, none of the above options have been designed for vulnerable segments of the population. That is why the Invest in You program is a different proposal, since it is not only designed to provide tools and basic knowledge about investments, in order that these sectors can achieve their empowerment and economic independence, but it also has no cost and offers the participant, upon successful completion of the workshop, financial support so that they can invest and apply what they have learned, thus generating their own income from the beginning.
It should be noted that the workshop will be 70% practical, a platform designed to simulate investments will be used, in which participants can work for the duration of the workshop. The importance of practice lies in the fact that investments are very dynamic, so a workshop with more theoretical than practical load is not ideal, to better understand the behavior of the markets and know if we are doing the investment exercises well, there is to work them constantly.

Currently we do not have participants in the project, since it has not been possible to gather the budget to start with the activities. However, it is considered that the first generation is 20 people and in a year we can have up to three generations, so that annually we could train around 60 people benefited. In five years, we would like to be able to open at least one other office in another state other than Mexico City, it could be Yucatán or Hidalgo, which are states that are in recent growth. If we manage to open at least one more office, we could have 540 participants benefited in the next five years, considering the 60 in the first year and 480 between the two offices in the next four years.
It is estimated that after launching the call there will be a very good response from people interested in participating in the Invest in you workshop. This first activity already gives us a result, the number of participants will be related to that of the dissemination work that has been done on the call.
The second of the expected results of the workshop is that the participants, after having spent three months of training (including practice in the investment simulator) and two months in the contest stage, manage to make successful intraday investments themselves This will be measurable through the exercises and activities assigned to the participants.
The second expected result is that the participants, thanks to the Invest in You program, achieve their financial independence. We can see this in the follow-up stage to the participants, where they must report to the project how they are making their investments and what their achievements are.
The third and no less important of the results is to see a vulnerable segment of the population strengthened through the program. During the project follow-up period, in addition to monitoring their investments, they will see how their living, working conditions and interpersonal relationships with the people around them have changed, taking new surveys and comparing them with the one applied at the beginning of the project. . In such a way that we can see the progress that has been made, what situations continue and assess how it can be supported to improve.

The CEO, Yamil Nares, studied political science has specialized in data analysis and has a polling house. He has more than 10 years working in surveys on different topics, as well as in the analysis of the data collected by them. He is a great leader for the team. The undersigned is an archaeologist and historian, I have worked in communities and archaeological sites in the southeast of the Mexican Republic. The last 10 years I have worked in the teaching area in different institutions, currently I coordinate the teaching area of the Mora Institute. The administrative manager is an accountant by profession who was in charge of processing the CONEXIA Foundation registry. The professor who will teach the classes has specialized in investment issues, so he is a professional in the field of finance and investment. He also knows very well the technologies that are needed to deliver the courses. We still do not have the assistant but we will look for a person who has the possibility, the capacity and the time available to support this work. The results analyst will be a person who currently works in the CEO's pollster, so he has enough experience.
All of us involved are very interested and committed to the Invest in you project. We will combine our agendas, interests and knowledge to achieve a favorable outcome. We all want to be able to support and contribute our knowledge to society to provide greater well-being to those who need it most.
Our team at the moment is made up of the people who have designed the project. This small team that is currently diverse in several ways. First, it has diversity and gender equity, since there are as many men as there are women. Second, it is made up of professionals from different areas, such as technological, social, anthropological, administrative and technical, with this we can say that we have a multidisciplinary team. The latter is a great advantage, since it allows you to see the same problem from many perspectives, which gives you countless ideas to solve it.
At the moment the team does not exceed eight people, but we are sure that in the short term we will be able to grow and we will integrate many more people who believe in our project and who are willing to help people who need it. We are open to inclusion, for us the most important thing is the dedication and commitment that a person may have to do their job, that added to their ability and profession will be what determines to be in this team regardless of their age, social condition, gender , differences in their physical condition, etc.
In addition to their professionalism and commitment, the most important thing for us is that they believe in the project and are willing to support it, because only in this way will we be able to make the program and everyone involved in Invest in you grow.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We are applying for this challenge solution because we want to receive feedback on our project from the experts. We also want to have greater dissemination in the media and be able to give conferences where we talk about our project. We want to receive advice from other people who are doing things similar to our projects. We are also interested in belonging to a network as important as that of which you are a part. As part of our interest is also being able to receive resources for being selected and from partners who are interested in our project. We are interested in being able to access software licenses that may be useful to carry out our program and that we can offer the best to our participants. We would love to be able to train ourselves on issues related to our project and on various topics that may be of interest to us, to grow as individuals and as an association, in order to provide the best to our applicants.
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
We are interested in having mentoring in financial matters, to be able to manage the resources that are obtained in the best way and make the most of them. Also to have guidance on how to request new resources and how is the best way to do it.
Another topic in which we are interested in tutoring is technology. As has been said, we will be using different platforms to teach participants how to open investment accounts, how to manage them, how to make investments, among other things. However, it would be interesting to be able to develop an application that could be used to train students. Perhaps something that they could have on a mobile device and where they could be constantly reviewing the movements of their investments, so that they fully delve into the subject.

We believe that we can be chosen for this award because our solution, although it may be for people in vulnerable situations in general, it can be said that it is very close to women and their vulnerable condition in many sectors of society, whether due to domestic violence. , due to lack of education or because of being economically dependent on other people. It is because of the above that one of our main motivations for this project is the desire to help women who are in a vulnerable situation, providing them with education in financial matters so that they achieve their financial independence.
Since it is well known that one of the reasons why women are constantly violated or abused is because they are financially dependent on other people. Hence, our interest is to train and support this sector of the population, to avoid as far as possible that this situation is prolonged and continues to affect them directly and the people around them. We believe that this can be largely achieved through financial education.
