i-Responder
One of the biggest problems we have with data sometimes is the capacity to collect quality data . Recently there is some underlying unreported account of over 95% cases of non-communicable diseases in some informal settlement across the 3rd mainland bridge of mainland, Lagos.
i-Responder Mobile Application
The i-responder mobile application is a fast and efficient mobile technology that will enable local health workers to collect required epidemiological data in the case of an outbreak which most time is either underreported or not reported at all.
An inefficient digital solution that allows community health workers to easily record outbreaks data and send it to local health authorities involved.
Lack of coordination and synergy among community health workers towards outbreak emergency response.
Knowledge gap among these health workers on how data usage and collection on health areas.
The goal of this mobile app is to develop a data collection reliable mobile application that will help local workers report cases of an epidemic swiftly to the local or disease control agencies while gathering evidence data to prove the existence of that data provided to health authorities involved.
The mobile app has the following features and functionalities
- E-learning Data collection platform that provides community health workers with simple and short training on data usage and collection.
- Record cases as they begin to turn out in number.
- Digital data transfer
- Report a case to health authorities and request for immediate intervention.
- Access to toll-free call on emergency outbreak issues.
Our target population will cover
Direct beneficiaries- Health workers eg, nurses, doctors,
Indirect benficiaries- Local communities dwellers
In cases of an outbreak/pandemic most of these communities dwellers due to been under represented suffer negligence thereby leaving them out of preventive and solution measures just set asides for the
- Equip last-mile primary healthcare providers with the necessary tools and knowledge to detect disease outbreaks quickly and respond to them effectively.
This tool aligns with the challenge requirments to using technology
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.
Currently, we have a mobile technology that will enable a First Responder to receive an alert/notification of an emergency and immediately; he/she will initiate a lifesaving treatment prior to the arrival of a professional emergency responder although based on current cases of meningitis reported from a rural slum here in Lagos.
We believe the early report of these emerging cases can limit the adverse negative effect of potential outbreaks.
