Youth Empowerment English Training Cente
YEETC is an English Learning and, Electric Energy producing Brand created for solving the English Illiteracy and, the lack of Electric Energy in my Francophone and underserved community. In this pitch, I am going to talk about English Learning issues. To this matter, I had created an English learning Center since July 16th/2016 where I have been training Francophone Intellectuals in the English Language through face-to-face English Training sessions. If given an occasion, about 99% of Congolese Intellectuals would tell you how English Illiteracy has affected and, locked opportunities door for them since the colonial period. As an English Teacher, I decided and created YEETC they can gain English skills so that they can express and share ideas with English native speakers, and benefit from different opportunities offered in English such as the MIT Solve. Since the beginning, the center has a proven record of 600 people trained despite difficulties.

Teaching the English Language in a Francophone Country is not an easy task, as Teaching French to English native speakers too. It requires adequate didactic materials, a building ( School), and qualified training facilitators. Unfortunately, YEETC doesn't own a School nor any adequate didactic materials, for running this project, I use my English Books and Dictionaries for conceiving lessons and set a strategic partnership with a local school where I am working with my staff members for delivering our peers from consequences of the English Illiteracy. Having not our own building, we are obliged to work only 1 hour per day from 6 to 7:00 Am while we are able to work 10 hours per day if the project had its own building, as consequences, we are unable to make a meaningful transformation. Google will tell you that less than 1% of Congolese intellectuals can speak the English Language because of our Francophone origin, furthermore, you will realize few applications from French Speaking Countries in this competition, the fact doesn't mean people didn't study, but it is just because the opportunity is offered in the English Language which seems to be an obstacle preventing Francophone Intellectuals globally.

YEETC is an English Learning Center, targeting Francophone Intellectuals and offers them tailored English Learning services through face-to-face training sessions of 6 months per promotion. After the enrollment of Francophone Intellectuals especially those who don't know any single English word and pronunciation, we start teaching them by focusing mostly on English pronunciation because that's where non-native speakers have difficulties. Learners come every day to the center for learning, the teaching method is based on making the translation of French Words, Verbs, and Expressions into English. At the very beginning teaching this way was a bit difficult, but with passion and, doing this every month and year we got strong experience. since July 2016 till today, YEETC has a proven record of 600 people trained, generated $6.500, engaged 4 full-time English Facilitators. Besides, I was selected with the same project at the Tony Elumelu Foundation in 2019 and won $5.000 seed capital of the foundation. Recently, I was selected again with the same project by (YALI) Regional Leadership Center Dakar. If given the possibility, we should design our application so that Francophone Intellectuals outside our community and border can download them and learn online.

Francophone Intellectuals in large: Secondary students, Diploma Holders, undergraduates, graduates are the main target of the project, especially those living Mbandaka Town. The main cause of the English Illiteracy in my community is the Francophone status of our Country because our Education system uses the French Language for teaching. From nursery school to university, students are taught in French Language only, that's why after completing their studies Congolese intellectuals are unable to Speak, Read, Write and, Listen the English Language. Despite this miserable fate affecting 99% of Congolese intellectuals, the government has not set any sustainable solution for addressing this situation. For attracting their attention, I just emphasize on positive impacts of the English Language worldwide, how it should open opportunities doors for them, for instance: getting access to International Communication, Job opportunities, seeing its insertion in every domain in the 21st century, be it: Business, Medical, Communication, Travel, the English Language is needed, that's why knowing the English Language is a must to every Francophone Intellectual if they want to be connected to the world. And YEETC should help address the problem if they want to develop English Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening skills. Furthermore, I taught of creating a special English learning program for teenagers, in order to start this struggle since primary School, but missing the autonomy, I couldn't launch this initiative.

- Increase the engagement of learners in remote, hybrid, and physical environments, including strategies and tools for parental support, peer interaction, and guided independent work.
I have selected the above challenge because I would like to train at least 1.000 people per year, so based on our face-to-face training session, this choice will help you to understand the project's needs of having its own space, and building including training tools which will help us to make a fast and meaningful transformation in the lives of our French-speaking community. Because once we have our own space and building, we will start organizing English plays and, Club for facilitating the Learning acquisition.

- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth.
I have selected this stage because my project YEETC existed many years ago, and has been training people. Youth Empowerment English Training Center (YEETC) was created at Gbadolite Town in 2016 then brought today in Mbandaka town unfortunately that the lack of most important key resources and autonomy is blocking its growth. - A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
YEETC is an innovation because I have created a special Teaching system and, Learning acquisition which made the English Language easier to learn. Normally for learning the English Language in a non-English speaking country, people use to join Universities and there they can spend 3 or five years for gaining the English skills, besides expenses of tuition fees and related issues. Contrary to these procedures, YEETC offers only 6 months of learning which helps people to develop all English skills, at an affordable price. It helps those whose financial possibility doesn't allow them to further studies at universities to learn and become fluent in a short time at an affordable cost.

YEETC has served 600 Francophone Intellectuals from 2016 to date, the statistics should be amazing if the project had its own Training Space and a building, from where we should work about 14 hours per day instead of the 1 hour per day that we have been working. Unfortunately that the lack of autonomy has been delaying and blocking our fast and meaningful accomplishment and growth. We plan to train 150 trainees next year, and 1.500 at least or more in case we had our own building in the next five years.
Many of YEETC trainees have got Job opportunities from the English Skills they gained. Some of them became English Teachers in many Local Schools, others got Jobs in local UN organizations, and those chatting with English native speakers on social networks. Fortunately, they don't forget how the project helped them by opening them these new horizons, and they keep on encouraging us to keep doing the same for the next generations and forever. From this acknowledgment, we value how slowly our impact goals are been reached.
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
Based on our actual revenue, YEETC works with 4 full-time employees, among them 3 qualified English Teachers and one cashier.
Being an English Training Project, my team is composed of qualified English Teachers who majored in the English language from the applied pedagogy High School (Instutut Supérieur Pedagogique) of Mbandaka town, where the project is located. I work in the right collaboration with them for conceiving lessons tailored to the need of customers, training, supervising the learning acquisition of our trainees, and, in the strategies planning for the development of the project. frankly speaking, without their suggestions and input, I couldn't be able to lead the project until today.
The world's evolution has shown that women are able to serve as men do, that's why for applying that equality gender in my team, I recruited one lady in the Teaching staff. apart from including a lady in my teaching staff, the project encourages female Intellectuals to the English Leaning too.

- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
As an emerging leader, attending this robust 9-mont program is a must for me because I believe that this program will help me to strengthen my know-how, offer me supports in grants and resources which will allow me to reach the vision and objectives of my project. furthermore, I'll be given the opportunities of developing my network by meeting outstanding leaders from outside my own country and share ideas even on preparing next collaborations. Gain the media and conference exposures that will spread my project throughout the world, benefit from its mentorship program, and offer me access to an ecosystem of like-minded changemakers so that together we can use our knowledge for bringing solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
- Business model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
I have selected the above areas because they match what I am doing in my Leadership and Entrepreneurship commitments through YEETC. The project needs talented employees for offering the best services to the community, so YEETC being an English Learning project, would like to set a good partnership or collaboration with American English Teachers for offering good English acquisition to Learners. Running a for-profit Enterprise, setting a good Business model and strategies for unlocking the project's development is a must for me, that's why I would like to work with partners for strengthening my Entrepreneurship skills and on the setting of a Usiness model which will fit my project. I need Financial means because it will help me to reach the different objectives and vision of the project, such as the needs for building and key resources that I need, that's why I asked for. I will need supports financial supports for designing the project website, YEETC's English Learning Application for extending my solution beyond my community and country and, for purchasing modern English Learning materials.
The GSR and the MIT. I didn't select this prize and organization at random, being an Enterprise venture, and organization contributing to human's well-being through the sector of Education, the reason why as an Educative leader, I have selected them so that they may invest in my project, by helping me to build my own English Learning school and equip it with resources designed for learning practices so that together, we can shape a brighter future of my community through education, and create new educational opportunities which will generate shared profit for ourselves.

- Yes, I wish to apply for this prize
The GSR prize will help YEETC to become autonomous for making fast, and meaningful transformation in the lives of my Francophone Community suffering from the consequences of English Illiteracy. I mean the prize will be used for building our own modern English Learning school surrounded with a good environmental condition, and equip it with the most important resources needed for Language Learning for facilitating the learning acquisition, things that we have been missing since the implementation of the project and blocked the project's development, growth and the meaningful impact of our vision and objectives. Sincerely, this will be the very first of the kind in my community. Set a permanent electric Energy source (solar energy) that will provide sufficient energy for running our learning materials and allow the project to work at night. Having our own building will be the venue for additional innovations in my community. Becoming autonomous and keeping the partnership with the GSR, we'll be able to implement and strengthen STEM Education innovations for helping my unprivileged and underserved community.
