OES solution addresses
Poor student performance, poor teacher evaluation, manual assessment of students results and teacher engagement, and poor reporting to stakeholders (Parents, students, education administrators).
Our solution provides multi-format classes (live classes, recorded, documents and radio), testing, grading and reporting. OES utilizes AI to create customized student learning by assessing performance and forecasting areas of improvement. We also monitor selected metrics to show teacher-student engagement and to create 360 degree performance reports.
Our Global impact includes:
Reducing barriers to education through remote access.
Providing more opportunities for the female student and reducing dropout rate (female students will not be discriminated against because they have menstrual periods or for religious reasons).
Minimizing the impact pandemic by providing remote access.
Creating equality in content dissemination and access.
Converging all educational content (single source for notes, classes, assignments, quizzes, video conferencing).
Providing budgetary information for education administrators.
OES is trying to solve inequalities of the dissemination of education, inequalities in grading, poor proactive students monitoring and evaluation of teachers, poor handling of data generated for adequate predictive growth forecasting.
Inequalities in the dissemination of education- urban cities, religious differences resources are scattered all over the place
Inequalities in grading- there are no marking metrics, and computer-graded will solve the biased grading.
Evaluation of teachers- content notes are not well-reviewed before being used for students so notes are not well written.
The population of students generated by the ministry of education in Nigeria which is 47.2M in 2020, 75% of this total is affected by the challenges stated above. From preschool and primary, the country experiences 70% dropout of students because of poverty.
Poverty, COVID-19, religion, standard marking metrics, and education budget are factors contributing to the problem that leads to the challenges stated above.
Nigeria's poverty rate is still around 92.00% and which means 92% of 200M of Nigeria are subjected to less than $5.5 per day. In addition, the pandemic situation of the world is also a contributing factor. Also, 6.6% of the total budget in Nigeria goes only to education.
Online Education System (OES) is a web-based solution that allows a student to select preferred learning format; live or recorded classes, document format classes: Pdf, PowerPoint and Word documents, or Radio sessions. The student may also complete assignments and tests and these can be graded on the system by educators.
Process: Students and educators are required to have internet access to utilize OES, and enrol on OES and receive login credentials
Educators are required to create class notes or videos, and assignments/quizzes, and answer keys by subject, these must be uploaded to the system for immediate or future use.
Students can access subjects by class after login and may complete tests or assignments on the system.
Educators can also upload marking keys to grade the assignments, and objective and essay format exams. Educators are also able to view each student’s performance on a daily, weekly, by term, or by semester basis. And finally, stakeholders are notified by our inbuilt report builder which recommends proactive action. Our AI system identifies areas requiring improvement and assigns applicable practice to students.

This solution is primarily meant to serve the students (girls or boys), teachers, school administrators, ministry of education, training institute, and any organization funding growth of education and indirectly the investors like parents who are given access to review what their wards are doing. Because of the decadence in the education system in the continent - Africa and in particular, Nigeria, a totally online education system solution approach is needed to help students with real-time strength and weakness tests in academic work while sending the assessment to their parents or necessary stakeholders. It also allows more schools to be created to enforce equality in education dissemination with adequate monitoring and evaluation. Access to education even in war zone areas, if adequately well funded. Hitherto, most students in the northern part of Nigeria have stopped going to school because of kidnapping. In addition to this, young girls are not encouraged to go to schools like young boys. In the southern part, there are more drop-out students from schools because the poverty level is eating deep into the fabric of the country's society. With OES solution, these challenges can be reduced to a level of eradication.
Furthermore, the students can interact with their teachers as well as the administrators on classwork or classroom resources and also store them on the application for later use. These were done during our integration with a primary school in Lagos and Osun State in 2020. The teachers' contribution has helped in furthering the development of a scalable traditional approach to the OES web solution service. In order words, the application follows a work process of teaching and this leads to the convergence of resources as compares to other learning management systems. There is a video conferencing module on the application and this means, the student will need only one iteration with a click to receive their lectures or classroom. The teachers also appreciate this because it helps to minimize copying of links from teachers to students. This is integrated into the fabric of the OES solution. This means the solution also bridges gaps created by the traditional teaching approach existing today.
Considering the benefits to the administrators and teachers, it serves as a resource location area to draw and to add to by the teachers. The administrators also have a dashboard where the performance of teachers' teaching can be reviewed, monitored, and evaluated for the reward with reports in statistics format. There is also a dashboard for the annual school census and mapping. this will be good for predictive policy planning of education and it's most useful for the ministry of education bodies.
Right now, we planned to work with 0.05% of 47M students for the next 3 years, and they in the range of primary and secondary schools in Nigeria. There is also another part in the application that helps in the treatment of students who are doing well in order to encourage them. This is what we called OES best brains. It celebrates students who are doing well. The impact of these solutions is not limited to the above benefits but it also helps to forecast and predictively know how to readdress poor performance students situation in the country and also in the continent.
- Increase the engagement of learners in remote, hybrid, and physical environments, including strategies and tools for parental support, peer interaction, and guided independent work.
The challenge is critical to a solution designed because of the following reasons:
1. The solution creates equality in content dissemination to girl students remotely, in locations where attending schools is an issue. For example, the northern part of Nigeria.
2. The solution creates opportunities to solve physical school challenges via the digital medium. You can be anywhere and attend schools.
3. Parents can access their wards feedback/reporting on the application
4. The solution has a student collaboration forum controlled by teachers for discussion.
5. It permits the use of pedagogy such as video and documents resource sharing to students
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth.
OES has been deployed on the production server and we are working with schools to simulate their processes. We are in the growth stage for the product. Some schools are using the product to reach out now to their students. In the northern part of Nigeria, it's being used in Abuja also. We are releasing it to be free for 3 months now so that we can capture complaints from users and update the application. Some schools are using it in Osun and Lagos State. Two models are adopted, there are agents profiling the customers and they also get 30% of the sales. In this case, the school admin creates student within his school. These students can receive lectures, submit assignments or take exams created by the school. Second model deals with direct purchase by students and parents. Presently, we have over 2100 students who have used the product.
- A new application of an existing technology
Currently, in education, there are no data to improved educational performance. The manual process is still being employed to improve education. The analysis is not immediately and thus, key metrics cannot be captured for planning and policy creation. Otherwise is the case in OES. In OES, there are four modules namely performance management system (PMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), stakeholder's relationship management (SRM), and student management system(SMS). Under the SRM, we have what we call student career advice which makes use of artificial intelligence (AI) such as a recommendation system and predictive analysis concept in forecasting student performance. Student data is predictive analysis for adequate direction to be made. In addition to this, semantic web (web 3.0) was used in the automatic creation of classroom notes for students in the classroom management located in SRM and this is based on the history of notes uploaded into the system. Furthermore, the system helps to converge all educational resources needed by the student to succeed in one place as compared to other learning management systems. I expect this to be the way to go in addressing students and educational challenges because there are data to show for it and it converging.

The solution is currently serving: 3456 students.
With your grant coming in, within a year we should be serving close 200, 000 students. With your grant and investment, we envisage we should be reaching out to more than 1,500, 000 students in the next 5 years.
Presently, we are forming an alliance with the ministry of education in Nigeria most especially in Lagos and Abuja. We are creating and planning webinars where we invite educators and create where we can generate networks. We are also working with Babcock University on the area of distance learning in the usage of our product. We are also talking with banks and telecoms so that we can reach their customers and support them on education. We are also forming a strategic partner in South Africa on how the company can be established over there. Our network is our net worth and this is also why we are applying for this grant. Eventually, our goal is to increase skills, increase gross domestic product, increase strategic partnership and improve the standard of education in Nigeria.

On the application, the solution can come in a different language. This is done via strut framework Internationalization (i18n). The solution is a conduit that different scheme of work can run through it. It can also support any nation's ministry of education analysis such as school census and school mapping analysis based on the UN Management Information System. The solution permits a bulk scheme of work, user upload from the administrative interface, so it can easily be extended to support other locations. OES is best for aggregating schools online with an adequate admin interface to process educational information. It is also extended with Jython capability because of integrated statistics on the admin, so, any country can extend its query if need be. With this international view in mind, we are looking at reaching close to 5 countries in Africa within the next 5 years. With this solution, diversity, equity, and total inclusion can be achieved if all these countries can get on the OES system and it can also be centrally administered at each end.

OES is an application that permits any country to operate accounts on it and there will be a level of personalization for that country. OES runs from the ministry of education to the student or parents level. This means teachers are also stakeholders in running OES. The solution permits equitable classroom implementation via the OES stakeholder's management system. In OES, there is integrated video conferencing that permits integrated classrooms with equitable reach to students. This is done in teacher teaching management. In this area, classwork, assignment, continuous assessment as well as examination can be prepared and this can be taken based on the class level of the student in the student management system role previledge. Classroom management also helps to converge academic resources in OES. This will be useful in ASA. In OES, there is also social media area for student collaboration. With your involvement in the OES product, we believe, the product will scale beyond what it is now.

OES application is a conduit for schools online. An investor can be around the refugee area and create a business to reach out to students around his area or anywhere using the OES application. He can also upload the scheme of work of the country that is associated with that refugee camp on the OES app. This will give refugees inclusion into the community in which they are found. OES also permits self-reliance by empowering low-cost and sustainable processes for the investor. It is cheap as compared to physical schooling. Because it permits remote learning, the stigmatization of students will be eradicated. Investors can run the total process run in the physical school on OES.
