One-line solution summary:
Disrupting traditional Brick Industry from Angirus Eco-Freindly and sustainable technology using 100% recycled waste material.
Pitch your solution.

Plastic pollution is globally ubiquitous. It is found throughout dumping yards, landfill sites, and water bodies. Plastic waste in general, responsible for almost half of the global climate crisis.

On the same side, Brickkilns is one of the largest sources of air pollution globally which releases 2.5 PM in the atmosphere.

Angirus provides Eco-friendly and sustainable Technology to make Bricks using non-recyclable plastic waste and other industrial waste. These bricks are waterproof, recyclable, and superior to any other brick in the market.

These products can provide a permanent solution to the disposal of these wastes by eliminating the use of fertile soil, coal, and water thus conserving scarce natural resources and reducing Green-House-Gas emissions.

Our technology is innovative and Sustainable as the raw material used; all are waste products and prevalent in the country. This is totally In-house technology thus creates no harmful impact on the environment and human life.

Film your elevator pitch.
What specific problem are you solving?

In 2016, the world generated 242 million tonnes of plastic waste. Estimate says that this figure could triple up by the year 2060. Plastic waste causes floods by clogging drains, causing respiratory issues when burned, shortening animal lifespans when consumed, and contaminating water bodies when dumped into canals and oceans. Plastic waste mainly enters the environment when it is poorly managed, such as through open dumping, open burning, and disposal in waterways. Even when plastic waste is collected, many countries lack the capacity to process and recycle the waste.

Countries of the South have a massive “under-construction” agenda – as much as 70 percent of India, for instance, is yet to be built. Despite the availability of clean technology, the majority of the 1,500-billion-bricks used each year are produced using polluting kilns.

Traditional brick production methods, in which clay bricks are fired using coal, wood, or other biomass materials, are still commonly found in parts of Asia and Latin America. These methods are inefficient, requiring a lot of energy and topsoil, and pose an important threat to health and the environment through the large amounts of particulate matter, black-carbon, sulphur-dioxide, carbon-dioxide, and other pollutants they release into the atmosphere.

At Angirus, we have developed an eco-friendly and sustainable technology to make bricks using major waste generated in the country. Our innovative technology combines Plastic waste and other Municipal waste synergistically to make lightweight and waterproof bricks and paver blocks with zero carbon footprint.

We offer Environment sustainable bricks which are waterproof and lighter in weight. WRICKS is 30% lightweight, 80% waterproof, and 20% stronger than the market red clay bricks. These Bricks don’t allow water to pass through them, therefore, prevent the walls from water leakage, degradation and ensure the longevity of the lifespan.

One of the major advantages is that Wricks is recyclable, and can again be recycled into the brick by going through the same process. This technology has a rapid production rate and can be ready to sell into the market within a day, whereas it takes days 15-16 days to prepare red clay bricks.

Our technology will be a great option for affordable housing and enable the public authorities to solve the housing problems in developing nations. Municipalities and organizations can use this technology to manage their plastic waste and demolition waste hence creating a circular economy for our ecosystem.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

1,500 billion bricks are produced globally each year, of these 1,300 billion bricks (or 87%) are from Asia. Rapidly accelerating urbanization at an average rate of 6% p.a, this growth is driving increasing demand for bricks. Solid, fired clay bricks are among the most widely used building materials.

Starting from India, which is the second-largest manufacturer of bricks after China globally, with an annual demand of about 200 billion bricks. This makes the brick industry an over 1200-billion-rupee industry whose demand is met by over 200000 clay brickkilns.

Small to medium-size units will be set up by Franchising the technology to brick Manufacturers or small enterprises looking for sustainable business opportunities; this way, it can meet the Local Demand and consume the waste from local municipalities and Industries. Additionally, this will also save transportation and help in reducing the carbon footprint of the product. Moreover, the product can be easily customized as per the needs of the local market without any additional cost.

Angirus will help these Brick Manufacturers Procure the Raw materials from Local governing bodies and Industries near their local area. Each Brick manufacturer at least will buy one manufacturing Unit under the name of Wricks” Brand. Angirus shall retain the marketing and promoting rights and provides Raw material and other services from time to time and maintain the quality of bricks.

Our technology has an advantage over conventional clay bricks as it eliminates fertile soil and Coal, thus conserving scarce natural resources and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. Moreover, the prices of traditional clay bricks and other related products have skyrocketed in the recent past. Waste material bricks (Wricks) have a competitive advantage over fly ash and Cement Bricks that use expensive raw materials like cement and chemical admixtures.

WRICKs provide a permanent solution to the disposal of various types of Plastic waste and industrial waste. Selling a targeted number of brick 1.5 million Bricks in a year can consume more than 37.5 million waste materials with 12 million Plastic waste annually without any greenhouse emissions in the air with zero residues. This will help recycle waste material and help reduce the carbon emission caused by the conventional brick industry while saving millions of tons of Clay soil, Coal, fuel, and water.

We think in the upcoming scenario our technology can have massive scope in the future to the unsustainable red bricks kilns. Our object of eco-friendly processed brick is focused to help address the issues in the value chain of the brick industry by providing our eco-friendly, durable, waterproof, and light-weight bricks to builders, contractors, and engineers, while also helping government bodies in solving the problem associated with waste management and air pollution.

Our solution will serve the following three customer segments-

1. Government, urban local bodies, and Institutes

Those who wants to manage their local non-biodegradable waste such as plastic waste and C&D waste and wants to convert the waste into useful material that can again be used in their projects such as community toilets and rural housing solutions, housing for all, etc.

We Help them to uphold social responsibility with economical and affordable solutions for the circular economy while Reducing waste from the city and providing Environment sustainability products for public infrastructure.

2. Brick manufacturers and small enterprises-

Those who is suffering from restrictions of govt and neighborhood for operating brick kilns and creating pollution in the air and soil mining. They also suffer from the fluctuation of raw material cost and unavailability of a regular supply of water and other material, especially in dry regions. There have also been found out that workers working under the brick kilns and fly ash brick manufacturing undergo lunges and breathing problems in very early stage and suffer heart attack-like problems.
