Irebe Decorations is a community based cooperative operating in the southern province of Rwanda, we are a collective of local community artisans working to socially improve our livelihoods through the production of home use and lifestyle decoration baskets, as an artisan group we focus on production of home living and everyday use products plus other accessories.
Working within a cooperative, these craftswomen (for the vast majority of weavers are ladies) benefit in many ways apart from job security to other advantages of working together as a cooperative. We want to head community development in our area by training the hundreds of artisans under our cooperative.
Our members include community youth, single parent households and other artists located within our surroundings and we specialize in finding creative ways to transform indigenous materials into functional items, we engage community youths and women to be responsible stewards towards the environment by ensuring we use sustainable raw materials that have a minimal level of damage to the environment and nature.
The cooperative members are our foundation force: the different beautiful products we produce are a testimony of our raw talent and passion behind every handmade basket we produce.
