I would use the funding to help revolutionize the workforce. This funding will help expand innovation not only in the city where I reside but in other cities that a innovative online curriculum platform that will be designed as a catch all system in order to provide a holistic individual to each individual who participates in our workforce readiness program. Participants will be able to receive certifications, complementary experiential learning credits, professional development training through career exploration and then identified for job placements, apprenticeships/pre-apprenticeships, internship and community service learning projects which will help leverage the individuals from entry level to professional level. This platform will help leverage those with little to no experience, provide high school credit for those who are short credits upon graduation, assist participants to receive in demand industry certifications for industry shortages, etc. We need a one stop shop system that will allow job seekers to receive mentors and advocates in the employment field to help fill the unemployment gaps in cities all over the world and in the process create a quality talent pipeline for the U.S. Workforce.
