Nourishing Lives Inc.

Nourishing Lives is an organization founding on nourishing the lives of families in any way we can so that the children have to possibilities available to begin to change the cycle of poverty. We support children and families through programs that feed, lead, and read. Our mission is to provide for children and inspire young adult leadership in communities for positive change.

Our organization is growing rapidly and we are working to build practices and systems that can be duplicated in any community. We would use this funding to develop relationships and seed startups to expand our reach. 

We are in need of some funding for staffing to help expand and transportation to move donated food to communities in need. We have an established network that is growing of donations to help families in need but we need the tools to reach further in communities.

I am a mom, pastor, Founder/Executive Director of Nourishing Lives, Inc., Leadership Coach, Student Mentor, and Speaker/Teacher. She has a passion for igniting a spark in young leaders that inspires love of others and passion to create positive change in our world.“I want young leaders to know that they have greatness within them. The way they treat themselves and others makes a difference in who they become. Each person was created to be amazing; and each has the ability to impact the world for the better.” 

My vision is to create a network connection in community for the nourishment of the community.  I believe we can begin to change the cycle of poverty by connecting with each other. We want our families fo have place to  belong, be loved, receive what they need, and have an opportunity to help others also. All we do is done in love and community.  I believe in the power of possibility.  I believe in the youth of our generation to inspire change. I believe we can make a difference.

We nourish the lives of children and families in any way we can.  One area of focus is food.  in Florida 814,000 children are food insecure.  In Broward County 75,000 children are hungry.  We believe have a plan to impact change by creating a network of caring organization focused on nourishing the lives go children and families. 

In order for us to continue sharing the possibilities and feeding families we need ongoing support.   We are in the process of participating in a program from "Cradle to Career" with one of our college partners.  This program targets neighborhood with have high need for support. 1 in 5 children we meet are hungry.  We strive to help children receive basic needs, so that they can grow, learn, and develop physically and educationally to their full potential.  Our programs focus on food & nutrition, literacy, and leadership. We believe in the power of inspiring a child. 

Nourishing Lives offers food weekly for children and families, books as an ongoing commitment to literacy, and we accomplish most of our goals with student lead leadership daily. We are growing rapidly and we need resources to always say "yes" in our community to reach more students.

We are innovative because we focus on the aspect of community in our approach to support.  We believe each has a need to have a place to belong, be valued, and to be seen.  Our community approach invites each person, child, and family member to be part of the solution. Our culture is "all is done with love for others".  Each day we serve and are served in our interactions.  It is never about a hand out but always about serving our neighbors.

We invite and encourage community support of our mission. We look to all our organizations and contributors for help in implementation. We are driving by those who serve in our efforts. We ask for others to be a part of the solution. I think we are successful because those in our community can see the vision and the need and want to be a part of helping their neighbors.
