Roc Era (regardless of color) was founded with the hope to make the impossible, truly possible for our underprivileged children in black and brown communities. As president and founder, I have sought and gathered partnerships as far as my personal resources could stretch
during a pivotal moment in America. To me, the elevate prize is a prize for this nonprofit to get its fighting chance to help seal the inconsistent gap for programing for these children. 

Starting with the youth in Los Angeles – we will ultimately change the trajectory of children’s lives and future generations to come!

My name is Aurianna Angelique and I am the founder and president of the nonprofit Roc Era . 

I myself grew up in the projects, in a single-family home. I was lucky enough to have mentors who believed in me so much, that I believed in myself to follow my dreams as a performer!

While I maintained my entertainment career, I always held tight to my passion for educating and interacting with youth. 
Eventually I moved to LA and I left my career as an actress to create diverse content for children’s film and TV. Visibility was one of the missing parts that our children of color needed.
That move to LA and my social leadership within the past year, fighting white supremacy, led me to ROC ERA.

My vision is to create safe spaces for our children to cope, grow, and become empowered standing in their truth.
Our mentorship program will create open paths to change the trajectory of these children’s lives.
My long term vision is to open ROC CENTERS here in Los Angeles and one day around the world.

My vision is that all children around the country, and around the world, will experience equalityand truly believe that they matter and hold value in this world.

I'm starting right in my own community - we are empowering the lives of these children in lower income districts, making the impossible, possible.
Through passionate volunteers, we are introducing the children to a new way of life. A life they may not know they have a right to. A chance to explore their interests, in a safe environment, and really discover who they are.
So often our black and brown children don’t see their true potential due to unstable home life, not having mentors, and believing as though they are forgotten, or their lives don’t matter. This limits their ability to see just how capable they are.
That’s where ROC KIDZ comes in. We teach them subjects they don't normally learn, introducing untraditional sports, a variety of art forms such as music, theater, and dance. We take them on field trips, we take them out of the walls of their projects in hopes that they can have a new view of becoming and achieving whatever they want in their lives!

Our work focuses on expanding the view of these children and helping them gain knowledge and perspective to all that the world has to offer by introducing traditional and untraditional routes and paths that our lives can take. Every life on this earth takes a different course and it’s not always a straight line. We want to tailor their needs to their interests and strengths. We want them surrounded by adults and mentors who are dedicated to their mental health long-term growth and aware of the challenges they face every day.

We show up. Consistently.

We show up to some of the most underserved communities in Los Angeles, we talk to the community and its leaders to see what resources they are personally requesting, and we collaborate with other organizations to get those needs met.
We show the families in the community consistency and integrity, unlike other organizations that may only come in around the holidays, our primary focus is the youth and what they need is a constant ally in order to solidify trust. Without that, any efforts we make would be futile.
We use love, compassion, understanding, and pure joyous laughter to bring the kids in these communities lasting hope.
