Abeno
A social media platform where anyone can invest in someones business idea and where where anyones business idea can be funded.
Think of it this way, you in an African village and you have a brilliant business idea that you want to start but she have no money and no bank account making it impossible for you to get a loan, Abeno is the solution, think of it as like a "Twitter" but for business people that want to invest in ideas or Entrepreneurs that want to start a business making it easier for people to get funding. You post your business idea or upload a video explaining your business idea and when people see your post they will invest into it. It doesn't have to be only one investor it can be many people, 30-50 people investing in a business idea that requires $100
Payments will be made through WesternUnion, Mukuru, Mpesa and Remit.
Abeno will handle payment processing because most African people don't have bank accounts so using these services will be normal because people without bank accounts already receive money from relatives who are overseas from these services.
The problem we trying to solve is poverty, most of the youth in my community are unemployed and with youth unemployment being at a all-time high of 62% in South Africa. Contributing factors are *A lack of education and training is considered the root cause of unemployment. *Secondary and Tertiary institutions do not provide enough post-graduate guidance. *A lack of interest and support for entrepreneurs. In 2014, only 6% of the youth population was involved in entrepreneurship due to Government legislation being complicated and costly, making it close to impossible for the average South African to start a business.
The results of these problems have caused many youth to fall into deep depression and also sadly suicide. People have now also turned to drug abuse and alcoholism. Divorce rate has now increased in the community causing children to be more moody and irritable and be unsociable.
Our target population is unemployed youth who want to start a business and have a business idea that can impact the lives in their communities, helping unemployed youth get funding for the business ideas will bring a better standard of living for them and create jobs for other unemployed youth. They are under deserved because it's impossible to get a business loan if you don't have any money, making it very hard for anybody to start a business. Abeno will create an opportunity for unemployed youth to start a business because with Abeno everybody's voice can be heard and people are willing to invest in something that can have positive impact on a community, making it easy for somebody to get an investor (loan) and start a business through Abeno.
I have consulted many people through Twitter asking "if they had the funding would they have start their business?" and all were positive responses with how a platform like Abeno can create great opportunities and change the lives of many people who want to be entrepreneurs but have no funding or help to start their business.
At this point in time there's no other organizations doing what what Abeno is trying to achieve.
I have been in contact with the (AU) African Union youth development and I'm eagerly waiting for a response from them, but I can say they were positive towards it.
- Improving financial and economic opportunities for all (Economic Prosperity)
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
Abeno is a concept at this point in time because we are looking for investors and funding to kick start our platform so we can get to work on web and app development of Abeno
- A new use of an existing technology (e.g. application to a new problem or in a new location)
We will be using AI and Blockchain technology for safe transfer of money to and from the platform we rely on existing technology such as Swift, Western Union, Mukuru, Mpesa and a network of computers to verify a legitimate transfer.
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Big Data
- Blockchain
- Internet of Things
- South Africa
We are currently still an idea
If you can get funding we plan on starting with 20 people to fund who have great business ideas that can positivity impact their communities and create jobs for others.
We can also start with web and app development of Abeno
Hiring qualified individuals to be part of our team will also be something we can do if funding is available
Getting hardware for the development of our platform Abeno
Getting publicity from news agencies and creating marketing campaigns for albino before launch and after launch
We will measure our goals through a series of stages the fist stage will be web and app development. The second stage will be getting licensing and permits with payment processing companies and governments. The final stage will be launching and doing or marketing campaigns for Abeno
Funding
We are Young and understand what the youth needs as we're moving to a more social media based investor and entrepreneur platform making it easier for people with smartphones to access it
We are the best to provide the solution because we understand the struggle that many go through before starting a business and getting funding or a loan from a bank on the African continent.
I am currently in the African Union youth program we are working on solving an array of African issues.
