One-line solution summary.

A device attached to the ceiling creates an electric field to push airborne particles to the ground.

What is your solution?

My solution should work by creating an electric field in the vicinity of the device that works on pushing the virus to the ground, we would need to polarize the virus first so that the field could work on it, much like a magnetic field. This will restrict the movement of the airborne particle in the horizontal direction, and will only allow it to travel vertically.

What specific problem are you trying to solve?

I am trying to combat the spread of Covid-19 indoors. As everyone knows, the whole world is affected by this virus, so there is no point in going over how it affected our community. Not only am I trying to provide a solution for COVID-19, but also I am trying to prevent the spread of a future virus in case any emerges.

Who does your solution serve? In what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Again, the target population is everyone.

What steps have you taken to understand the needs of the population you want to serve?

I have talked about my solutions with multiple engineers, and they were supportive of the idea, but had some concerns with regards to other particles that are being pushed to the ground, and if it had any negative effects on people in the vicinity of the device

What is the unmet need that your solution tried to address? Why is it important?

There is no engineering solution that combats the spread of COVID-19. As we saw with this virus, we had absolutely zero control on its spread, and it took a while to develop a vaccine that is not perfect. An engineering solution is needed to combat the spread of viruses indoors so that people can go back to living normally.

Explain why you selected this stage of development for your solution—in other words, what have you accomplished to date?

I have not done any research with regards to my idea, so it is still in the concept stage, I am looking for someone to encourage me and help me in obtaining materials, as I live in Lebanon and not much is available.
