Single Mom MOMents

An e-clinic that allows single moms to manage their financial conditions, unemployment, medical care, and mental health issues

MOMent's-clinic is a platform that allows single mothers to get equal access to our app’s features. In the health feature, mothers can monitor their vaccinations, detailed information and hospitals will be suggested for unvaccinated mothers to identify and register. Next, there will be an interface for medical care and making health appointments. The second feature is recruitment, since there are cases where mothers lose their job after giving birth, this feature was created so that mothers can easily find a job that matches the employer's needs and mother's ability. The third feature is finance, you will be provided with information about government assistance and insurance companies, where you can choose the insurance plans that suit your needs. Our app also comprises a section that will support single mothers psychologically. Aside from those, we also created a forum for moms to communicate, chat with others in the same circumstances and conditions. Thus, you can share experiences, stories, emotional support with the community. We will use a website and app because it’s easier to access.

We are trying to solve problems that single moms are dealing with. These are financial problems where they’ll have to pay for rents, food, electricity, water, child education all by themselves. In addition, they’ll also have to find ways to balance time between work and taking care of their child. These single moms don’t have much time to take care of themselves since most of their time is devoted to work and their children, which means that their physical and mental health is not getting enough attention. 

Bien Hoa is one of Vietnam's most populated cities, partially due to its central location in the Southeast area, and partly due to its massive industrial park, which plays a significant role in the South. As a result, there are many workers from other regions to work and reside, with single moms accounting for a sizable number. And their emotional and financial well-being is not yet ensured. Our solution is intended for single mothers who work alone to raise a family and require assistance. The MOMents app can help women improve their quality of life both psychologically and financially, reducing the prevalence of mental illness, finding jobs, and providing significant economic assistance. With this ideal solution, we want to reach out to and understand single moms, as well as make their life simpler and happier.

We have gathered online resources and interviews of single moms online. In the population we want to serve, the majority are workers whose financial situation is unsure. Furthermore, their physical and mental are not well taken care of because most of their time is being used to work to be able to pay for expenses and take care of their children. 

We are providing services which cover the 4 services mentioned above. Support for single moms provides a contribution towards better educational opportunities for children (Learning), allowing them to have financial independence through job employment support (Economic prosperity), access to mental health consultations (Health), and reinforcing single moms as agents of change and sustainability (Sustainability).

Our application is only in the early stages of development. This innovation is a project we are working on for the second semester of the school year. We believe that it is necessary to focus on single mothers and help them because this group receives less attention from society and needs more attention. Building an application will make access more accessible and convenient since users can use it anytime and anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. We are in the process of discovering and evaluating the benefits and impact of this innovation on the community.

Aside from our clinic’s direct operation, a holistic app was created to provide accessibility to those who are from distant areas. A virtual forum, as well as significant features, will be composed into one accessible, compact, and practical application. Due to the lack of attention for single moms and their role in society are not being genuinely valued in Vietnam, we bring features that will help aid their financial conditions, unemployment, medical care, and mental health issues. Our application was designed with a user-friendly layout similar to popular social media sites in Vietnam so that it would not be time-consuming to figure out how the app functions. We turned complex procedures into a simple click, making m that supports various, shareable media files, a virtual recruitment site, etc. Furthermore, we ensure that the users’ privacy will be protected.

Since we’re still in the concept stage and the product has not been launched yet. We came up with an estimated number of users between 50 thousand to 100 thousand, estimated from Facebook groups and forums (the actual number of single moms can be a few hundred thousand, may even be a million or more)

Since the community of single mothers and working mothers are still not recognized and supported with their struggles in raising children without any emotional care and financial support. Our most obvious goal is to create a place, a tool for psychological as well as economic support for single mothers who have not received the help they need, providing them a space they can trust, for them to share and get help. The first two months after launching the application, we will build the trust and confidence of single mothers about the application. Over the next quarter, we plan to build a voice for the single mom community. Thereby, helping them get emotional support, find jobs, and raise children. Our solution addresses what this society needs and mothers need - something that has never been done before.

We measure our progress by keeping track of Customer Satisfaction (based on app rating and reviews) to see if our service is suitable and provides the customer’s right needs and upgrade the app based on the reviews. We also take note of the demand of the single moms’ society since many needs can be incurred.

The indicators for this project are: End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere. Our app and website will provide support specifically for single mothers, which in turn will support women in general as they influence each other including girls. Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic, and public life. Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women.

Barriers we may encounter in reaching our goals include technology, competition, finance, knowledge, and culture. In terms of technology, we don't get much exposure to this field in school. We may also face competition with other supporting communities (e.g. Facebook groups, community forums, ...) Financially, we have not found investors for the project at the moment. this. In terms of information and experience, what we have is not enough. Culturally, being a single mother in Vietnam is always seen as immoral and ridiculed. But with increasingly modern development, this is being received with a more positive attitude and is considered a trend among young people. However, there are still many conflicting opinions surrounding this. Whether voluntary or forced, the mother will be the one to bear the blame and criticism from those around and society.

Through forums or classes, including direct contact in daily life, we realize that single mothers do not receive much attention from the community, it is also almost considered a normal thing. We have participated in many competitions and many innovative programs related to women and single mothers, which also fueled our passion and intense interest in women. In addition, we are also girls and can also be a mother in the future. We want to innovate, overcome the current difficulties and situations so that we and the mothers are supported and be noticed. Finally, we'd love to be able to support single mothers, because they too deserve support and attention.

The team is not being supported by any organization. We are currently being supported by our school through training and guidance from our teachers.

Today's society is far more evolved, and both men and women have steadily made significant contributions to that growth. Why don't we, females with tremendous skill and amazing ideas, collaborate to solve an unfinished problem? In a tough circumstance like today's, the Covid 19 outbreak has severely harmed the global economy, and we have lost our employment and a source of income to feed our family. We have witnessed a group that has been badly impacted, namely single moms who are attempting to make money in every way possible to sustain their families without any assistance. This has had a significant impact on their mental health and quality of life. And, of course, we can't just sit back and do nothing for these women. We - girls, can come up with the most appropriate and practical strategies to help single moms since we understand women's psychology and needs. Although this method is still in its infancy and is insufficient, we want to demonstrate to the world once more the role that women can play in changing the world by working with women to help women.

We are working for and with women, providing extremely vital assistance to the women's community in general and the single mother community in particular. We understand the significance of our involvement in altering single moms' lives. By banding together as women to assist women, we can truly focus on single moms who are still disregarded and do not receive adequate government support. Our clinic is the ideal space for providing single moms with the services they require, such as mental health, financial aid, job search support, an ideal community for them to share and be listened to, and so on. Based on the evaluations and constructive remarks, we always make certain that all clients receive the most appropriate service style. Although our software is still in the ideation stage, with our sincerity and strong will, we'd love to be a part of the big change!
