Our solution is a platform aiming to help the vulnerable Yemeni minority in Cairo have a better life experience in regards to all aspect of life, and with less expenses. 

Simply, the solution is a platform that is conclusive of all the travel aspects, which any regular Yemeni traveler needs to know. The platform comes as either a website or an application to make it more accessible for any user. What makes this platform significant is that it is comprehensive and informative since it provides the user with the locations of the facilities they need to go to and the measures and steps of any processing they need to do within the borders of the city of Cairo. The platform will cover some essential aspects such as Transportation, Health Care, Restaurants, Insurance Companies, Traveling, Accommodations, Shops, Papers Works, Communication Services, Emergencies, Educational Institutions, UNHCR & Asylum, Jobs, Ads. The platform will be run and supported by volunteers who will work consciously to solve any emerging problems as well as chatting with the users just in case they need to.

According to the Yemeni embassy in Cairo,  between 500,000 and 700,000 Yemenis live in Egypt, and mostly in Cairo. Most of them are seeking better healthcare, healthcare, and work opportunities. However, most of the Yemeni population in Egypt are vulnerable, uneducated, illiterate and usually belong to the low socioeconomic class. Therefore, many of them have experienced fraud, either in hospitals, transportation or residences since the first moment they get out of the airport in Cairo. Therefore, we tried to address this problem and design a solution that would help those vulnerable people have a better life experience in Cairo

We are targeting Yemeni people who reside temporarily in Cairo. This type of people is a vulnerable minority, for they moved to Cairo seeking services, which are primarily healthcare services, their country is deprived of. Healthcare services are essential for every country, and a large population of Yemenies do not have access for the basic healthcare services in their drown-in-wars country. As a result, they resort to move with their families to Cairo as it has the easiest path for Yemenis to go outside Yemen. Since there are no sufficient resources to make them aware of the life in Cairo except word of mouth, life there is tremendously different from Yemen putting these people in critical situations where they need help; for instance, these people are continuously facing various problems related to doctors booking, transportation, telecommunication services, Accommodations, and money exchange services, etc. Our solution will act like a guide for this group of people helping them reach better healthcare services with better prices, find adequate accommodations, prepare for any paperwork, contact NGOs, and more.

As we have already mentioned in the definition, we are a group of Yemeni students who benefit from a scholarship at the American University in Cairo.  We have a direct link to the target group and belong to it in one way or another.  During our studies at the university, we carried out several research papers on the integration of Yemeni refugees in Egypt, and the difficulty of accessing services was one of the most important problems they faced.  During our work on this project, we published a questionnaire for Yemeni refugees in Egypt to answer about the most important services that they need to be included in one location to facilitate access to them.  This survey was posted via Facebook groups.  We relied on the data received from 142 respondents of both sexes in designing the site, and we will make sure to present the final design to a group of respondents for their approval.

Currently, we are at the “concept” stage. We discussed our idea with other effective societal organizations in Yemen, and tech pioneers, and the idea has received positive feedback and endorsement from many of those who get to see our idea, and feel who needed it, and how beneficial it could be for the Yemeni citizens in Cairo.  However, we could not get to the next stages of development, as we are still looking for financial resources and qualified experts that can lead this project to success.

Zeyad waleed, and Ayman Saeed are both distinguished engineers that have a wide experience in volunteer work. Aisha Aljaedy is a well known Yemeni feminist activist that has worked with multiple societal organization. The last two members are Ahmed Bahssain and Mokhtar Bawahal, who are computer science students and distinguished programmers.
