Entertainment curbing unemployment and building technology capacity.

Entertainment can be a way of curbing unemployment and improve on the levels of technology sensitization. 
PixsarApp is an application which is still under development which will be live broadcasting, storing, designing different ceremonies/functions such as wedding, graduation, birthday and other joy or jubilation parties.

A lot of people in East Africa and Africa as a whole can do everything to invest in their functions however situation they are, they can set up weekly meetings which aim at collecting money for their functions.

As Pixsar as a company we want to use this as a chance of hiring more people to work as PixsarApp Agents, software engineers, UI/UX designers thus decreasing on the unemployment levels.

This application is going to transform entertainment as a way of curbing unemployment in Uganda and as well as increasing the technology sensitization of the youths in the country such as enabling youths to improve on their coding skills, UI/UX skills, the company will be able to offer internships and other training sessions to the youths.According to the report given by Daily monitor (One of the best and leading newspaper company), it says that 87% of the graduates can't find jobs (https://www.monitor.co.ug/News/Education/87--graduates-find-jobs/688336-3844736-mk74vwz/index.html).

Since it's going to be an application (both web and mobile), all the APIs will be protected by tokens. This will ensure privacy by design approach.

This solution can be incorporated int DIS (Digital Identification Systems) by tracking the number of application installs, likes ,and comments from the users. Also tracking the number of functions per week could determine the increase on the statistics of the jobs available in Pixsar in the country. 

The system will be very easy to install (From both Play store and Apple store), effective error handling and easy to uninstall. 
It will also have the capability of detecting auto-updates so that the users can simply see the new features of the application.

Since the application is still young we are to come up with our own APIs, and we shall cater for the interoperability if needed.

The good part about the application is only for HD videos (stored and live streamed) and pictures. So even if people are having a low literacy level, at least they can just watch videos which could be a plus one on our views.

Secondly, for connectivity environments at least 10% percent of the villages do have electricity, we shall first base on this and with time, people will get used. There are also universities in each and every remote district which will be an advantage of spreading our tech awareness.

My vision in the next 3 to 5 years is having a hub of skilled software developers and  UI/UX designers who are competent enough with the skills of world-class developers. This will give opportunities to lots of jobless students who studied IT/computer science courses.

Secondly, Uganda's tech will increase it's software developers base since there are already existing company's which are willing to get more software developers in the country such as Andela. All this will be generated through entertainment.

Me and my team we have two UI/UX designers, that is Mugabi Imran and Hamiis Walugembe,  one legal officer Musongora Agustine, and one developer myself. But we are trying to expand the company to hire more developers.

Each function (wedding, birthday, graduation, etc parties) or ceremony captured is paid for, and actually, a week could contain a minimum number of 20 parties, so this is a core revenue stream. There are periods such as December's where there can be a minimum number of 10 functions per day, this could also be an advantage.

I believe in a saying which goes by "brilliance is evenly distributed, but opportunity is not". If at all we are given this chance  and our project is funded, this is going to increase on the skills of the workers most especially in our case we are targetting software developers and UI/UX designers,this will also curb unemployment since we have a lot of students who have studied IT/Computer science courses but there are few companies which can help them  practice.

The following are some of the challenges :

1.    Backed as a service fee (Firebase).
2.    Affording online live streaming engines such as Wowza. 
3.   Paying the employees (developers, designers).
4.  Transportation. Going to capture the events or functions from office to the site.
5. Advertisements which could increase the awareness.

Solutions to the above challenges are tied to finance, for example, the live streaming engines, getting drones with good picture quality, advertisements (increasing the application awareness).etc.
