Automated Closed Ecosystem (ACE) House

Mastering closed ecological life support systems (CELSS), as the new normal for the masses, is the key to solving most of Humanity's problems. This includes solving ALL of your challenges and ALL of the UN's Global Goals. The smaller, the better as versatility and mass produce-ability increases as size decreases. The solutions which automate as many repetitive/boring/dangerous tasks as possible have the best chance of success in adoption by climate deniers, uninterested parties, etc.

Protecting Ecosystem Carbon and Decarbonizing Housing Solutions:

The flash graphene process heats tiny amounts of carbon-containing material, like most of the trash in our landfills, to 5000 degrees Fahrenheit (°F) for less than a second to produce the flash graphene. Graphene is a wonder material that is: 200 times stronger than steel, lighter than air, excellent electrical and heat conductor, etc. Plasma arc gasification systems "heat the waste to temperatures anywhere from about 1000–15,000°C (1800–27,000°F), but typically in the lower end of that range."  These systems can process up to a 100 metric tons per day. Thus flash graphene could be mass produced with modifications to existing technologies. A miniaturized version  can then be designed to be incorporated in the ACE house, as the household waste reactor. Wooden buildings, like most houses can be converted into flash graphene to build new, maintenance-free  ACE houses. The flash process also generates significant amounts of hydrogen. 

The house integrates municipal housing infrastructure systems like; clean power production, pollution control, food production, water works and sewage treatment; making the external and costly versions unnecessary and obsolete.

Target population: All families who have difficulty in accessing even one of the basic necessities. All of their physical needs will be met.

Just an idea on a website.

I am having trouble getting traction for this idea and I do not understand why. Mastering closed ecological life support systems (CELSS), as the new normal for the masses, is the key to solving most of Humanity's problems. It protects whatever environment it is located in, on Earth as well as in space colonies. This includes solving ALL of your challenges and ALL of the UN's Global Goals. It should be the most popular challenge, X Prize, contest, etc. out there, but it is not. Can you please create a challenge for this category? Thus you would generate a multitude of individual solutions, working together, symbiotically.

No other solution solves so many global problems with a single product. Mass-produced globally, this easy access to GBNs will significantly reduce the worst forms of scarcity-based: famine, homelessness, poverty, pollution, inequality, crimes, wars, stress, illness, etc.

Mastering a variety of practical and effective CELSS now, in the relative safety of Earth's atmosphere, has many advantages. My impact goal for the next year is to spread the the idea of CELSS to competition organizations, like yours. My impact goal for the next five years is to witness and be involved in the birth and proliferation of a new economic sector: CELSS - the new indispensable product and class of products for everyone.

A shift to a space colonisation (closed ecosystem) economy guarantees economic growth forever. ACEs will play a significant part in this, so better to master them early.
9. Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure: Since the Global Goals will be solved, we can focus on remaining global problems, while opening ourselves to the challenges and opportunities of space colonisation and exploration.
10. Reduced Inequalities: The only product and service inequalities that will remain will be for luxuries.
11. Sustainable Cities & Communities: The Houses’ integrated municipal infrastructures and zero pollution make city upgrading and construction easier, cheaper and eco-friendly.
12. Responsible Consumption & Production: Adopting the ACE Housing Standard globally and universally for all structures.

Climate Action: Each house eliminates most forms of the worst pollution, including the transportation sector. A rapid-deployment, emergency-shelter version of the ACE House can be designed to indefinitely sustain a family of four following a disaster. This is needed for the growing number of natural disasters due to climate change.

15. Life on Land: Mass emigration to space colonies means that massive tracts of former city land and farmland can be reforested.
