Celtra!
We’re motivated to bring high quality healthcare to everyone irrespective of race, class, ethnicity and financial background! Healthcare is a fundamental human right recognized around the world. Around 400 million people around the world don’t have access to quality healthcare. These individuals lack professionals who’ll diagnose them and help them. Unfortunately, most of the time they’re unable to find professional help and fall prey to quacks (untrained, sudo medical professionals) or magical healers who in turn cause damage to their health. With Celtra! we’re eager to bring professional medical diagnosis with the help of AI to everyone around the world with no-cost!
Working Process:
Celtra! is a NLP (Natural Language Processing) enabled chatbot that can provide human-like chat experience and medical support.
When a user starts a chat with Celtra! It asks the user what kind of symptoms they’re facing, after the user responds with their symptoms, Celtra! matches those symptoms against the publicly available medical database of MayoClinic and provides the user with the most accurately matching diagnosis based upon the mentioned symptoms. For some diseases such as Cancer and skin conditions, Celtra! Provides the opportunity to upload images on our platform and it matches that upload against a wide-variety of other images on our platform acquired from high-quality medical databases and returns an almost perfect match.
Tech Part:
We are using GPT-3 and Twillo for creating the chatbot and a combination of Amazon Neptune (Graph Database) and Amazon RDS(non-graph database) to dynamically store data on our platform. Beautifulsoup and python are being used for scraping MayoClinic’s website and providing accurate diagnosis based upon symptoms. Finally Amazon Cloud hosting services to host the website and PWA (Progressive Web App). And we are using OpenCv and lobe.ai for image processing.
We chose Progressive Web App because it’s easy to scale and install on mobile phones and does not require heavy requirements for the device.
Cletra! Serves the 400 million people deprived of medical healthcare and beyond (i.e. anyone with an Internet connection)
Nowadays healthcare is extremely expensive in many countries including the USA and more. On top of that, several African, Asian countries don’t have quality healthcare professionals around them and as a result they rely on sudo or magical healers. Celtra! Focuses on helping these people and being. Anyone with an internet connection can access and get an accurate diagnosis based upon their symptoms. It helps people to make more sound decisions about their medical needs about how urgent they need to see a certified medical professional and what steps need to be taken to be cured from that disease.
The Internet is huge. Getting reliable information among vast misinformation is tough for a normal user. Celtra! focuses to change that by providing a central hub that’ll provide authentic and high-quality information. Users from around the world can use Celtra! and get an accurate diagnosis and don’t need to spend any money to do that and afterwards based upon the urgency of the diagnosis they can decide when they should visit the doctor.
I’m a high school senior, former Ethical Hacker, Software Tester, Software Developer, who worked with ex-NSA contractor, Twitter Senior Software Engineer and Stanford PhD Student and current AI researcher. I’ve been the youngest moderator in the history of ICML (International Conference of Machine Learning) and been Engineer in several high-end AI Conference (eg. ICLR, NeurIPS and more). I’ve been a private tester for OpenAI and GPT-3 respectively. I’ve experience and knowledge to create an extensive chatbot based upon all the advanced tech available.
Celtra! is part of my research project for my upcoming papers in NeurIPS 2023 and I always wanted to help people and that’s why, I’m looking forward to publishing papers on Ethics later 2024. That’s why, Celtra! is really personal to me.
- Build fundamental, resilient, and people-centered health infrastructure that makes essential services, equipment, and medicines more accessible and affordable for communities that are currently underserved;
- Concept
I learned about Solve from Google Search. I researched about the Solve program and figured out it can help me to get necessary funds to pay for some of the tech and provide me with PR and Marketing because I want Celtra! to be known by everyone and everyone to use it. And MIT Solve perfectly in the position to help me with both of this.
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
Cletra! Provides a novel approach to the problem of equal access of quality healthcare. There’s been no application or program available in the market that uses high-end AI oriented and tech approaches with sophisticated systems to combat the problem we’re addressing. Celtra! is the first of its kind in the market to provide equal quality healthcare access to everyone irrespective to differences of backgrounds.
We’re looking forward to having a working prototype by next year of Celtra! And later next year we’re looking forward to testing Celtra! in several Central Asian and South Asian countries in a pilot program.
Afterwards in the 2nd year, we’re hoping for the launch of Celtra in key markets such as Central Africa, North America, Europe, Middle East and South Asia. Following that in the 3rd year, We’re hoping to partner with Stanford, MayoClinic, Harvard and Oncora Medicals to train our system with a wide-range of advanced diseases information and partner with key PR and Marketing partners such as UN and more and have reviews of our application to top medical journals to gain recognition. And partner with key non-profit fund programs to raise sufficient funds. In the 4th year, we’re expected to earn around 1-2 million USD in ads-revenue and funds to start making us financially stable enough to research and innovate our platform and pay costs. In year 5, we’re expected to turn around 5-10 million by launching our premium features and access and selling them to top medical Universities, Hospitals, Clinics and Pharmaceuticals.
Finally by year 5, we’re focusing on serving around 150-200 million users.
We’ll measure our progress on the yardstick of how many users and how fast they adopt our system and on the basis of returning users.
Since we're a completely user focused platform, serving users is our main goal. We’ll be measuring our progress with the amount of user growth rate, adoption and returning users. In the same period, we’ll be conducting surveys to understand what features our users love/expect and what will make them return to our system again with user adoption and user-feedback driven yardstick measuring our progress towards our impact goal.
Finally being able to launch Cletra! in key North American and Europe markets would also work as another yardstick to measure our progress. Because launching in these markets successfully passing all government regulations will increase our credibility.
Celtra! Expects to radically improve healthcare to every individual around the world. It aims to provide high-quality accurate diagnosis based upon symptoms and shows how urgently they need to seek professional medical help. With the help of Celtra both Developed and Developing countries can understand what illness is happening to them and prevent them from delaying seeking urgent professional medical help.
The Core technologies behind Celtra! - GPT-3, Twillo, Amazon Neptune (Graph Database), Amazon RDS (non-Graph Database) Amazon Cloud Hosting Services, Beautifulsoup and MayoClinic’s Public Database for Diseases.

I’m planning to incorporate Medical Undergraduate students from Stanford and Harvard University especially from Black and Latino Communities (my friends specifically)! Because certain diseases are more prone to certain communities and having Medical Students from those communities are key to success for Celtra! On top of that, my team’s finances will be overseen by one of my friends from Peru, who is a graduate in Economics.
Celtra! Believes in ethics and diversity! Because we believe quality healthcare is everyone’s fundamental right!
We’re a hybrid organization. That means we’ll be placing ads strategically on our application and website and generate revenues from them and use it to pay the cost and we’re also a non-profit organization and that enables us to take donations from UN and Billionaire Philanthropy Funds and use the funds to pay for the costs that won’t be covered by the ad revenue. Any excess funds goes directly to research and development to create the application better and more high-quality.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
Placing Ads and taking funds are great for short-period but in the long term it’ll not be financially sensible. That’s why, we’re looking forward to charging a premium to hospitals and research clinics to use our platform to take medical disease related statistics and understand which drugs are being effective on a particular disease over the others and which demographics are more susceptible to a particular disease over the other.
We're in the concept stage and this is first startup competition we're applying for!
