Submersible Robot
A robot that dives underwater to gather and absorb plastic debris that has been found in the ocean.
Our main focus of our project is to save the marine lives. Each year, the usage of plastic seems to be increasing and the reckless behavior of humans throwing plastic in sea has been affecting every marine species. According to statistics, over 1 million marine animals (including mammals, fish, sharks, turtles, and birds) are killed each year due to plastic debris in the ocean. Hence, our project will be a great contribution to environmental as sea life is equally important to human life.
Our vision is to create a submersible robot which is a kind of robot that would completely automate to absorb the plastics in the ocean in order to protect and safe the marine life and the environment from being polluted.
The submersible robot has been attached with a camera in order to monitor the surrounding environment on a 360 degree view under the sea. Besides, we used artificial intelligence mechanism to detect the plastic in the ocean in order to absorb it through a vacuum that has been inserted in the submersible robot to reduce water pollution that has been occurred by plastic waste. On the other hand, when there is a marine life is detected in the surrounding of the submersible robot, the robot could be able to move into the other direction in order to prevent hurting the marine life when the submersible robot is cleaning the ocean.
Our project can be considered as a effective way to clean the ocean. A clean protected ocean helps important habitat and representative life and can assist in restoring the productivity of the ocean and avoid further degradation.
Marine lives are in danger zone in this generation due to irresponsible human behavior. It is very important for us to preserve the marine lives for the future, especially for our upcoming generations . Fun fact, oceans feeds us, regulate our climate and generate most of the oxygen we breath. Unfortunately growing threats such as marine pollution damage the aspects of our lives and infringe on the human right attached to them. polluted ocean not only affects marine lives, but also human lives.
Marine Biologist are one of our target population where we are working directly to improve their lives. Besides, Marine Biologist are facing difficulties when they are exposed to the ocean since they would face risk that includes animal attacks and dangerous environmental conditions which is a concern for most of them. Due to the risk factors, a camera that is attached to the submersible robot would help to monitor the underwater environment surrounding which could help the Marine Biologist to have a better view and understanding of the underwater and make their task simpler.
Focus and goals results. Our main goal of this project is to contribute to the environmental in a positive manner instead of winning. We set team goals based on outcomes and results rather than just on the amount of work being done. A clear plan regarding how we will accomplish these goals collectively and with the help of each individual may be established so that we will have a defined path to follow and a common goal to work toward
We conducted some study and a survey with marine biology students to gather data that would assist us in implementing a concept that would benefit both marine life and the environment.

Submersible robot able to prevent the ocean from being polluted by plastic waste and saving marine life. The marine life is currently facing crisis due to the pollution of plastic waste that kills by drowning, suffocation and starving. Some creatures get endangered the plastic debris while other animals like sea birds and oyster eat clogs their digestive system causing death. Besides submersible robot able to provide a better solution to prevent the solution and save the marine life creatures from being endangered and also able to prevent the ocean from getting polluted.
Within the first year we would like to achieve almost 150 Marine Biologist to use our submersible robot to do their research under the water/ocean and also to automate the submersible robot to absorb plastics from the ocean to reduce pollution. In the future, we would like to implement and develop more artificial intelligence components in the submersible robot.
Submersible Robot uses artificial intelligence or machine learning language to monitor and detect the plastic under the sea based on the data that has been provided through the survey that has been passed to the Marine Biologist students in order to built the model using the data. The model will be able to classify and separate the marine life and plastics into the data which informs the robot to automate the vacuum to absorb the plastic that has been detected.

Currently we haven't launched the solution but in the next year, we hope to serve for at least 150 Marine Biologist across the country through shipment.
Technologies concern due to adapting into a new technology that involves marine life and the environment. Besides, we are concerned that the technology could hurt the marine life creatures on the process of cleaning the ocean.
Financial concerns due to costly tools that would be used to build the submersible robot.
