Sustainable energy has been a handicap in humanity's life standards for a while now. Humans have been "mad scientists" for a while now- expanding their most useful technologies but never looking at the other side of the spectrum. The fact that renewable energy only contributes to 30% of the energy production in the world highlights this problem.
In addition to that, the percentage of sustainable energy is also highly skewed among populations. Over 50% of Europe relies solely on renewable energies, whereas Asia stands at about 5%. This results in poorer (and more harmful) living standards for the countries on the low end of the chart.
It has also been revealed that sustainable energy is stimulated, and stimulates, economic development, forming a symbiotic relationship. While it is obvious that energy and GDP are directly proportional, scientists are exploring the relationship between sustainable energy and economic development- unsurprisingly, this research is showing positive results!
