Smart automated monitoring & controlling system aims to decrease electricity costs to the minimum level and increasingly relies on solar energy.
For over a decade, the Gaza Strip has been suffering from an electricity deficit, which have a significant negative impact on the lives of citizens in the Gaza Strip. According to the OCHA report for 2021, the average demand of the Gaza Strip is between 425 MW and 540 MW. While the available quantity is 200 MW, that makes the Gaza Strip's shortage of electricity about 40% assuming that all current sources work up to optimal condition, which is doubtful. As a result of this deficit, the Gaza Electricity Distribution Company relies on a contingency schedule outage of 12-16 hours a day applied to all areas in the Gaza strip, while densely populated areas are most affected. This leads organizations and investors to go to using solar systems as a solution for this huge gap.
30MW is the amount of energy that the Gaza strip received from PV panels during 2021. This means that solar panels were able to reduce 3h of the electricity deficit per day this year. But in fact, this did not happen and referring to the number of interviews that we conducted with companies and consultants in this field. We concluded that the main reason is due to the failure to use solar systems in an efficient way. This leads to a large amount of energy wasted and between %20-50 of extra cost per month.
So, we are super solar came to introduce a solution that aims to get the best out of the sources of the solar system, by developing a smart automated monitoring & controlling system for solar systems that is containing software &hardware device. The software will take some parameters and process them to give a decision about the source with the lowest kWh cost, then the output is transferred to the hardware device which is connected to the inverter and can take the switching decision during day hours.
So super solar clients will have a system with a minimum establishment and operating costs throughout its lifetime.
In our solution, we targeted large factories, hospitals, universities, and local solar system companies in the regions with electricity deficits, and their use of solar systems is based on real needs. Such as some Areas in the Middle East, and Africa.
Smart automated monitoring & controlling system designed using operation research algorithm which mainly focused on evaluate parameters based on minimum fixed and variable costs. aims to enhance the utilizations of solar systems sources by developing an optimization algorithm that depends on taking the decision based on minimum (fixed and variable) costs which leads to reduce electricity cost to between 20-50%, maintain batteries endurance and decrees using of fusel fuel.

i learned about this opportunity through Al-Quds university -Palestine.
The year 2021 was the beginning of our project by analyzing a number of installed systems, such as analyzing all the installed systems at the Islamic University, which numbered 5 different between on grid, hybrid and of grid systems, and also the installed system was analyzed in a number of hospitals such as Rantisi Hospital. In addition to conducting a number of interviews with a number of local companies working in the energy system such as Mega Power, Sama Al-Quds, and others. the results of these studies led us to reach our idea of developing an automated control system capable of covering energy demand and reducing waste to the lowest level.
From the beginning of 2022 we started to develop the Algorithms of the software and validate it with some cases, in addition to software testing & business development.
- Taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Sustainability)
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
