Water , Sanitation and Hygiene
We are solving the problem of poor and unsafe water supply in the community and district at large.
We also solving the problem of poor waste management in our communities.
The project is targeting the population of more than 70,000 in our communities in only our community Masuliita however our district has the highest population of over one million population due to this there is higher demand for safe and clean water.
We also expect to extend the service country wide due to high demand of safe and clean water country wide for both domestic and Industrial use.
The problem of poor water supply has led to rampant out break and spread of diarrhoeal diseases like cholera diarrhoea dysentery and typhoid in our communities hence leading to high mortality rate.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene solution basically aims at providing safe and clean water through the following ways.
Building shallow wells in different places in our communities and Wakiso District at large .
Building simple hand pumps in different places in our communities to provide safe and clean water .
Buying and installing big water tanks in different places of our community . These water tanks will serve as water reservoirs and also be used in harvesting rain water.
The WASH project will also encourage people to properly dispose wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals among others. This will help to conserve soil and water sources.
My solution serves in the following ways;
Providing safe and clean water to the people in the community.
Reducing on wastes in the community as a result of the community being sensitized
Conserves the soil and water through encouraging people to properly dispose wastes in the community.
Reduce on the outbreak and spread of diarrhoeal diseases caused as a result of using safe and clean water.
The following are the impacts;
Ease access to safe and clean water by people in the community.
Conservation of soil and water sources.
Promotion of community health through the provision of safe and clean water.
Children, girls and women are protected from being rapped defiled or killed by wrong doers or drug addicts as they trek long distances looking for safe and clean water.
More time is created for people to do productive work instead of them trekking long distances looking for safe and clean water.
Generally community development is also achieved which impacts every body in a community as this attracts both local and international tourists and also improves on service delivery and access in the community.
The team is well positioned to deliver the solution because we are working cooperatively with local authorities, elders , community health workers and all members of the community through the following ways;
We always conduct meetings and seminars with the community members to sensitize them on the importance of using safe and clean water.
We also conduct seminars to alert the population in our communities on the importance of proper disposal of wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals among other as this conserves the soil and water.
We have also conducted pilot study or baseline survey with the help of the community health workers to find out the common diseases affecting our people in the community. This was done through testing the human excreta for children below 5 years and we found out that they were majorly suffering from diarrhoeal diseases like cholera diarrhoea dysentery and typhoid we also used data entry sheets to record these results.
With still the help of the community health workers and local authorities ,we collected demographic information about our people in the community using questionnaires which had questions like the availability of water sources, latrines ,racks, rubbish pits, residential houses, kitchen among others essentials at home. This helped us to come up with the WASH solution as we found out that most of our people lack good sources of water and there was poor disposal of wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals among other.
All the above measures have helped us to Foster unity and cooperation with our people in the community hence welcoming our solution warmly.

- Scale: A sustainable enterprise working in several communities or countries that is focused on increased efficiency
We serve a population of seventy thousand people.
We are applying for financial support here to see that our charity organization implements all it's strategies attached to the Water Sanitation and Hygiene solution so that the entire community can have access to safe and clean water and make sure that soil and water is conserved through proper disposal of wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals among other.
So our organization is basically here for financial support and partner.

- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
Apparently my solution is innovative in the way that people in our communities are still getting water from poor sources.
However our water, sanitation and Hygiene approach will make sure that shallow wells are built in different places in our communities so the every person can have access to safe and clean water.
The water, sanitation and Hygiene approach will make sure that there is proper disposal of wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals and torn clothes. This will make sure that the Sanitation of the place is improved hence leading to soil and water conservation.
Breeding places for mosquitoes will be drained as this will reduce on the spread of malaria.
Water and soil conservation will help in the protection of fauna and flora.
Soil fertility will be improved through proper waste management and this will help ensuring food security due to high crop productivity in our communities.
The big water tanks to be installed in different places of our community Will act as water reservoirs and also be used to harvest rain water.
These are the solution impacts.
Through building of water sources in our communities, people will have access to safe and clean water .
The access to safe and clean water will improve on the population health in the community since there will be no more or reduced spread of diarrhoeal diseases like cholera diarrhoea dysentery and typhoid.
Through proper waste management in our communities, soil and water sources will be conserved. These are always silted by wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals among others.
When water sources are conserved, there will be conservation of aquatic life like the fish, crocodiles among others.
Conservation of land will lead into conservation of terrestrials like termites, people , dogs , goats among others.
Children, girls and women will be protected from being rapped, defiled or killed by wrong doers or drug addicts as they trek long distances looking for safe and clean water.
More time will be created for people to do productive work instead of trekking long distances looking for safe and clean water.
There steady and adequate supply of water which will also support irrigation farming systems in case of drought hence ensuring food security in our communities and the country at large.
Generally community development will be achieved through building of water sources and desilting plus fencing the water sources.
Plantation farming will be protected due to the availability of enough water.

These are some of the indicators for our impact goals;
Through our seminars with the community health workers help, people have been sensitised on the importance of boiling drinking water. This has reduced on the spread of diarrhoeal diseases like cholera diarrhoea dysentery and typhoid.
There is an improvement on the community sanitation due to proper disposal of wastes like human excreta polythene bags plastics and metals among others.
Mortality rate has reduced due to promotion y sanitation and Hygiene in our communities especially in infants.
The community has been sensitised on the importance of using latrines or toilets properly hence eliminating many faecal diseases in our communities.
With the help of community health workers, children who were tested and found with diarrhoeal diseases during our pilot study or baseline survey have been treated and got healed.
There has been generally behavior change of people in the aspect of health life styles as a result of massive sensitisation of the community population.
Uganda has been with this central government since 1986 when they captured power.
However this government is not effective at Funding and implementing community development charity activities. This is as a result of high levels of corruption and embezzlement of funds by some of the government officials. This has totally hindered the growth of Uganda making it one of the most poorest countries in the world with 43% of it's forty three million people surviving on less than$1 per day per person and even others staying with out any meal per day. 73% of it's population still survives on less than $2 per day per person. This is a true indicator of high levels of poverty among ugandans. Besides all the the presence of natural disasters like drought, floods, landslides, and pandemics like covid 19, HIV/AIDS has left Uganda and Ugandans in a poor living state hence all for help to save Uganda and Ugandans.

Our Water Sanitation and Hygiene solution is currently running on the principle of science and technology:
For example
The construction of simple hand pumps which done using technology of drilling machines.
The construction of soak pits in our communities for proper disposal of wastes.
The use of the water tank technology in harvesting and reserving rain water for future use.
The use of irrigation systems in plantations farming.
The use of chemicals like chlorine and sodium chloride in treatment of water .
The science used in the recycling and reusing of the wastes like human excreta, polythene bags, plastics, and metals to ensure environmental conservation.
- A new application of an existing technology
- Ancestral Technology & Practices

Team work, high level of integrity and confidentiality has helped our organization to drive toward it's goals.
The organization is so open to accountability as this is the major pillar of managing and allocation of finances in a proper way.
We do annual audition by trained auditors to reflect our cash flows.
Books of accounts are properly managed and open for inspections.
Divine touch children ministries is a non profit registered organization in Wakiso District Uganda. It is basically meant to perform community development charity activities as it was licenced . Among the services include providing safe and clean water to our people in the community , taking care of the needy children , providing basic medical services to the needy people in our communities , ensuring good nutrition of the needy children and their education.
We offer all the above through the principle of volunteering. This is the best way to contribute to our charity organization and can be as valuable as cash donations or grants.
So we just serve our communities through volunteering because it is the only way we can push on with our charity organization goals. We always call community well Wishers to come and take part in the y charity work like desilting water bodies, fencing water sources and doing general sanitation of our community plus desilting water channels. So we just join hands as community members to see that the work is done.
Children , girls , elderly and women are the key beneficiaries however our water and sanitation cause is a concern to everyone in our community. So basically all people in our communities are beneficiaries of the solution because everyone needs safe and clean water.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We always also consider members contributions as this helps us to raise money to work on some goals of the organization . However money raised through this means is not always sufficient.
As a charity organization we also set up income generation activities like piggery, poultry keeping bee keeping ,some crop growing on small scale and floriculture just basically to make us raise some money to do fund the activities.
We also write our proposals to local and international donation and grant giving organisations to partner with us and fund us to accomplish our community development goals and objectives.
We also appeal to all Wishers to support our charity movements.
Some times we carry out pricing of products like fruits for example mangoes, oranges, lemons , jack fruits among other items to see that we raise money to carry on with our charity organization operations.
The fact that organization was started in 2020 amidst Covid 19 lock down, so we were operating but without fully being registered and licensed, This hindered us to fully look for funding sources through grants and donations from local and international grant making and donation organisations as it could seem illegal. So it not until 25th February 2022 when the charity organization got fully registered at Wakiso District Uganda that we started applying for grants and donations but unfortunately we didn't secure even a single grant since they considered the organization to be too young. So basically there is no grant information we can provide now and revenue statement but we are surviving on the local methods of raising funds. Of which even the amount raised is used directly to take care of the causes at hand that the organization takes care of.
For more information on our finances visit the charity organization website and cross check with the organization bank account as you press the donate button on the charity organization website.
