Virtual School for Children with Photosensitive Epilepsy

Children with epilepsy may have photosensitive epilepsy which may prevent them from using electronic devices such as computers, digital tablets, as well as cellphone apps. During a pandemic, technology for virtual school can be health risk for these children.

The proposed solution is for the scanning of hand written assignments for scoring. It allows for an alternative to virtual school during a pandemic. What is envisioned is that the scan documents are assessed by what is called a convolutional neural network (CNN) to assess improvements in handwriting as well as grading the assignments. It becomes family-centered because the parents and/or guardians can learn about this technology from the field of artificial intelligence.

The solution serves, primarily, children who are diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy.
