Food security is a challenge around the world due to many structural and economic factors, such as high rates of poverty Unemployment, slow economic growth and an increase in the cost of living , the most important factors that contribute to the threat to the Food security situation is the existence of a surplus in the amount of crops that are produced around the world, as the amount of vegetables and fruits that goes to waste and is destroyed annually in Jordan about 400 thousand tons, hence the idea of designing an application FarmJO in order to reach the world to enhance the level of security by reducing the amount of crops that are destroyed annually.
Providing statistical information to the Ministry of Agriculture on the types of agricultural crops that are cultivated, providing an agricultural calendar, providing recommendations to achieve and enhance food security in the country through the Ministry of Agriculture, based on available agricultural crop information, by linking the quantities of crops that are produced with the amount of crops that are consumed . Feeding the Ministry of Agriculture's database with information on farmers across the country.

Shorouq Al-Halawani, founder of the company, holds a master's degree in entrepreneurship and a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Recipient of the Crown Prince Award and UNIFEM Award.

Spreading the use of the application in other countries , and making the application a primary source of data for achieving food security around the world, in addition to expanding the range of services provided by the application to include livestock.
