ARA : Plastic wastes to modular shoes

Proprietary modular shoes recycled from plastic wastes which enables you to change as many as shoes as possible with same sole just by changing the flaps, thus significantly reducing the global carbon footprint and cost of wearing at least an extra shoe. With our solution, we would creating millions of jobs on a global scale from the least of the dump picker, manufacturers and government.Global impact of carbon footprint would become negligible, wastes generated from these shoes would be used to produce same shoe; thus resulting in a circular economy.

Over 381 million tonnes of plastic wastes was generated in 2015 alone! In a metropolitan like Lagos, over 1200 tonnes of plastic waste is generated on a daily basis. The average American generates an average of 0.5 kg of plastic wastes daily;that is equivalent of a standard shoe! I grew up in a third world country that prioritized rapid industrialization above environmental sustainability with the end result of highly unacceptable levels of toxic industrial wastes and effluent emissions. I began to feel the hardship they had experienced for many years. Then, it looked like I could do nothing significant about this; I however learnt over time that it was well within my capacity to help the situation in the least.I also realized that this menace spans from my community in Lagos to countries like South Africa,India,Brazil and even to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, thus, not only a Nigerian problem but a global one.

Our solution is particular targeted at communities and countries (South Africa,India,Brazil) of high plastic waste pollution and children in underserved communities.

We produce modular shoes from plastics.

Recycled plastic wastes converted to modular shoes.

• More than 5 trillion plastics pieces still afloat!
• 381 million tonnes of plastics produced annually!
• 90.5>#/span### of these plastics wastes has never been recycled! (plastics are converted to plastics = more plastics!;p>0.05)
• The average American produces about 0.5kg/day ~ average weight of a standard shoe!

0.5kg of plastic wastes = 1 standard shoe

1kg of plastic wastes =2 shoes

~ 381 million tonnes of plastic wastes produced annually =381,000,000,000 kg

381,000,000,000 kg * 2 =762,000,000,000 shoes!!!

Our target is to produce 5,000,000 shoes/year

Our average shoe is $22.22;profit/shoe is $11.11. 5% is $0.55

~ 100 million Children go hungry/year = ~ 280,000 children starved/day and 3 children starved/second

In a year, we would have contributed $5,550,000 of our profits to the cause of feeding starving children, and converted over 250,000,000 kg of plastics to wearable shoes!

• Sale of extra detachable shoe flaps and soles

• Franchise

• 5% of profit on every shoe sold to feed children in underserved communities.

We intend to crowdfund on our first set of 2500 modular shoes and then raise investments and possible combination of donations to our cause of feeding starving children and grants.

I am driven by deep intellectual curiosity, hard work and creativity with a rebellious mind and independent spirit. I am a very sharp thinker and even with a more curious personality with great ideas and maverick perspectives to old challenges. Over time, I have been able to out-think, out-work and out-care my peers.
