What specific problem are you solving?
Many underserved schools focus on rote learning and compliance, preparing students for careers with high automation risk. Brookings Institution research shows routine jobs face 91-100% automation risk, while creative roles face only 4-11%. This creates a critical skills gap. Well-funded schools offer project-based learning that builds creativity and critical thinking, while underserved communities receive narrowed curricula focused on test preparation and following instructions. The consequences are significant: research from the Equality of Opportunity Project shows children from wealthy families are 10 times more likely to become inventors than those from disadvantaged backgrounds—creating what economists call "lost Einsteins." As AI transforms the job market, this gap threatens to widen economic disparities. Students trained primarily in instruction-following are being prepared for precisely the jobs most vulnerable to automation, while lacking experience with the creative thinking that will remain uniquely human and indispensable. Without addressing this misalignment between current educational approaches and future workforce needs, we risk leaving our most vulnerable students unprepared for an AI-transformed economy where creativity and independent thinking will be essential.
What is your solution?
Our Look-Think-Do AI Teaching Assistant helps educators integrate project-based learning into any classroom by connecting teacher goals with student interests. This AI-powered platform serves as both a personalized learning companion and a classroom facilitation tool. The solution works through our three-part framework: LOOK: The system presents students with personalized content tailored to their interests while fulfilling curriculum requirements. Rather than generic assignments, students engage with materials that spark genuine curiosity, and are guided to look detail by detail. THINK: Students develop critical thinking through guided reflection and choice experimentation. The AI assistant encourages "what-if" thinking and helps students explore different approaches to problems, replacing passive memorization with active learning. DO: Students create original work with AI as a collaborative partner. They produce tangible projects demonstrating mastery while developing skills in creativity, problem-solving, and digital collaboration. The technology leverages large language models and a structured pedagogical framework to make project-based learning (PBL) accessible to all students, regardless of school resources or teacher experience with PBL methodologies. Our system puts students back in the driver's seat of their education, empowering them to set their own goals while still meeting academic standards.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our Look-Think-Do AI Teaching Assistant serves two primary groups: All high school students, especially those in underserved public schools where project-based learning is rarely implemented due to resource constraints. These students currently receive education focused on standardized testing and rote memorization, with few chances to develop creative problem-solving skills. Our solution provides personalized learning experiences that connect curriculum requirements with their interests, develops automation-resistant skills, empowers them to set their own educational goals, and offers flexible support that accommodates their busy lives. Educators who need to responsibly integrate AI into their teaching without additional burden. Many teachers face pressure to incorporate AI while fearing it will either replace them or encourage cheating. Our solution helps them: - Reimagine pedagogy to use AI as a creative partner rather than a threat - Implement project-based learning without extensive training or preparation - Maintain academic standards while fostering student creativity - Navigate the changing educational landscape where AI literacy is essential By serving both students and teachers, our solution addresses the educational ecosystem holistically.
