What specific problem are you solving?
We are addressing the accelerating degradation of native forests and ecosystems due to climate change, deforestation, and unsustainable land use. Globally, over 1.5 billion hectares of forests have been lost in the last three centuries, with direct consequences for biodiversity, climate regulation, water cycles, and human well-being. In Latin America alone, deforestation accounts for over 40% of greenhouse gas emissions, threatening critical biomes like the Chaco, Cerrado, and Chiquitano forests. These ecosystems support millions of people through ecosystem services such as clean water, fertile soil, and climate resilience. The challenge lies in the inability of traditional restoration methods to scale: they are slow, expensive, and limited to accessible terrain. As a result, vast degraded areas remain unrestored, particularly in subtropical regions. This contributes to increased carbon emissions, biodiversity loss (over 80% of terrestrial species depend on forests), and worsens climate impacts on vulnerable communities. Governments and companies face mounting pressure to meet climate goals but lack scalable, tech-enabled restoration tools. Our solution directly tackles this problem by enabling large-scale, cost-efficient ecosystem restoration using precision drones, AI-based analysis, and species-specific biotechnology, unlocking previously unreachable areas and transforming restoration into a high-impact, scalable climate solution.
What is your solution?
Our solution restores degraded ecosystems with speed and precision using biodegradable seed capsules (iSeeds), drone-based aerial seeding, and artificial intelligence. We integrate biotechnology, UAV technology, and satellite data to reforest large areas efficiently and at scale. At the core are our iSeeds—biocapsules filled with native seeds treated with beneficial microorganisms that enhance germination and early root development. Recent field trials in the Brazilian Cerrado with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) showed germination improvements of up to 25 times compared to untreated seeds, validating our approach scientifically. Using custom-built drones, we deploy thousands of iSeeds daily—even in remote or hard-to-reach areas. Our software ensures each seed is placed with high geographic precision and minimal environmental disruption. Our AI engine analyzes satellite and field data to map micro-site conditions and recommend native species with the highest probability of success, increasing biodiversity and ecosystem resilience. This platform enables cost-effective reforestation—cutting costs by up to 50% versus traditional methods—while delivering measurable gains in carbon capture and biodiversity recovery. It is ready for scale and designed specifically for subtropical regions under high restoration pressure. We support governments, companies, and carbon project developers in meeting climate goals through scalable, science-backed ecosystem restoration.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution serves three main groups: 1) project developers in biodiversity and carbon markets, 2) companies seeking impactful sustainability initiatives, and 3) governments aiming to meet climate and restoration goals. Project developers often face high costs and low efficiency when restoring ecosystems. Our technology enables faster, more cost-effective, and certifiable reforestation, improving their ability to generate high-value biodiversity and carbon credits. Companies are increasingly pressured to move beyond greenwashing and invest in real environmental impact. We offer them scientifically validated restoration projects that enhance their ESG performance and brand reputation, while contributing to global climate goals. Governments, especially in Latin America, struggle to meet reforestation targets due to budget constraints and lack of scalable tools. Our solution provides them with efficient, tech-driven restoration that supports climate resilience, biodiversity, and benefits for rural communities. Indirectly, our work also supports local communities that depend on healthy ecosystems for water, food, and livelihoods. By restoring degraded land and native forests, we help ensure long-term ecological and economic stability for millions of people. Our solution addresses a critical gap in scalable, effective ecosystem restoration, empowering a wide range of stakeholders to take meaningful climate action.
