What specific problem are you solving?
The specific problem we are addressing is the lack of access to quality education and essential digital skills among underprivileged communities in Zambia. Approximately 70% of Zambians lack basic digital skills, severely limiting their job opportunities and access to crucial services in a rapidly digitalising economy. According to UNESCO, only 15% of the population possesses the necessary digital competencies, while the World Bank reports a 14% youth unemployment rate linked to skill deficiencies.
This problem is not isolated to Zambia; globally, millions of young people face similar barriers, with educational inequities exacerbated by socioeconomic factors. The COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted these disparities, pushing many students out of traditional learning environments without adequate alternatives.
Our solution leverages generative AI to create a personalised online learning platform that adapts to individual learning needs, addressing the skills gap and improving educational outcomes. By focusing on low-income youth aged 15-25, our initiative aims to empower this demographic, enhancing their employability and enabling them to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
