Globally, over 2.2 billion people lack safely managed drinking water, with waterborne diseases causing 485,000 deaths annually (WHO). In Gaza and other water-scarce areas, over 97% of groundwater is unfit for human consumption due to high salinity and nitrate contamination, posing severe health risks such as kidney disease and methemoglobinemia. The crisis is exacerbated by poor infrastructure, pollution, and climate change, making conventional filtration systems costly and unsustainable for many communities. Blue Filter tackles this by providing an affordable, plant-based water purification technology that efficiently removes contaminants, including nitrates and heavy metals, without the need for electricity or chemical additives. By leveraging natural filtration materials, we offer a scalable, eco-friendly alternative that empowers communities to access safe water. Blue Filter is an innovative, plant-based water purification system designed to remove contaminants such as nitrates, heavy metals, and bacteria from drinking water.
