What specific problem are you solving?
Climate change is accelerating across Canada, with increasing impacts on health, infrastructure, and ecosystems. Northern Canada is warming nearly three times faster than the global average (ECCC, 2022). Canada emits 14.1 metric tonnes of CO₂ per capita, far above the global average of 4.7 (UNDP, 2020). The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), Canada’s most populous urban region with over 7.5 million residents (Statistics Canada, 2021), emitted 54.5 million tonnes in 2023 alone (The Atmospheric Fund, 2023). Yet Canada is estimated to be 30 years behind on carbon accounting standards. At the same time, businesses face growing pressure to report emissions and improve ESG performance but lack credible domestic offsetting options. Existing carbon markets fail to leverage the sequestration potential of Indigenous, agricultural, municipal, and woodlot lands. Earth Credit Canada bridges this gap with a platform that simplifies carbon offsetting and accounting—enabling landowners and organizations to participate in nature-based climate solutions. We help keep carbon investment in Canada, turning climate responsibility into a scalable, regenerative economic opportunity that benefits people, land, and the planet.
What is your solution?
Earth Credit Canada helps landowners turn their forests, wetlands, and farmlands into verified carbon sinks that can generate income. We provide the tools, technology, and expertise to measure, verify, and certify nature-based carbon sequestration projects so that landowners can further monetize their land. Our platform combines remote sensing, field data, and geospatial modeling to calculate how much carbon is being stored or removed from the atmosphere. Once verified, we register the project through established standards and connect landowners to buyers looking to offset their emissions. The result: landowners are empowered to participate in the low-carbon economy, ecosystems are restored and protected, and businesses gain access to credible carbon credits. We also provide carbon accounting and net zero strategy services to help businesses measure emissions, reduce their footprint, and achieve carbon neutrality. This includes detailed carbon reports, compliance support, and customized emissions reduction plans. Our pricing model is tiered and scalable to match business size and emissions volume—making carbon finance accessible and cost-effective. By simplifying the process and maintaining scientific integrity, we help landowners and businesses participate in climate action and build a more sustainable future.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Earth Credit Canada serves rural landowners, farmers, and Indigenous communities who manage vast natural landscapes and play a critical role in ecosystem stewardship. These groups often face rising land management costs and limited revenue opportunities tied directly to the sustainable care of their land. Our solution creates a path for landowners to generate ongoing income by turning their forests, wetlands, and farmlands into verified carbon sinks. Through our accessible, science-based verification process, they can earn certified carbon credits and sell them on trusted markets--making environmental stewardship a reliable and repeatable source of revenue. Each project begins with a land assessment conducted by certified analysts. If carbon sequestration is verified, a certificate is issued, valid for one year, with the option for re-auditing. This process encourages long-term land care and provides a consistent framework for financial planning and reinvestment in regenerative practices. By connecting sustainable land management with financial return, Earth Credit Canada enables these communities to participate in climate solutions--not as an added cost, but as an economic opportunity rooted in the work they already do.
