What specific problem are you solving?
Quality education often depends on access to hands-on learning tools (frog dissection kits, anatomical models, lab equipment, or field trips to museums). But these are expensive and inaccessible for most schools in Indonesia, especially in rural and underserved regions. For example, a basic science lab setup in Indonesia can cost upwards of IDR 20–50 million (USD $1,300–3,200), far beyond the budget of many public schools. A skeleton model alone can cost over IDR 3 million (USD $200), and a single class field trip to a museum in a city like Jakarta can cost IDR 5–10 million (USD $300–600) including transportation, often only feasible for a few urban schools.
To supplement, teachers often turn to multimedia content like YouTube, but many report spending 1–2 hours searching for relevant videos only to show a 30-second clip in class. These videos are rarely aligned with the Kurikulum Merdeka, often in English, and lack interactivity. In Indonesia, over 90% of schools have no dedicated science lab, and tens of thousands of schools still struggle with limited infrastructure, internet access, and learning materials (MoECRT, 2022). This creates a major gap in how students engage with science, geography, and history-- subjects that benefit most from immersive and contextualized learning.
What is your solution?
Assemblr EDU is a web-based platform that empowers teachers to bring lessons to life using interactive 3D and augmented reality (AR) models, without needing expensive hardware or internet-heavy videos. Teachers can simply open a browser, access a library of 3D content, and instantly show a rotating solar system, an explorable heart model, or a historical monument in AR, right from their laptops, projectors, or students' smartphones.
The platform replaces expensive physical teaching aids with digital ones that are scalable, customizable, and reusable across classrooms and subjects. Our tools integrate with existing tools like Canva and Quizziz and support local curricula in Indonesia. Teachers can drag-and-drop ready-made models or customize their own using our no-code 3D editor, making abstract or hard-to-access topics easier to understand.
In addition, we have optimized Assemblr EDU to work on most devices, no headset required. It turns passive learning into active exploration, helping teachers save time and spark student curiosity. Most importantly, it makes powerful educational content accessible and affordable for all-- whether you're in Jakarta or Zimbabwe.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Assemblr EDU serves teachers and students in schools across Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Zimbabwe, and other low- and middle-income countries where access to quality learning materials is limited. These teachers are often under-resourced, and overburdened. They lack science labs, models, and field trip opportunities to make learning engaging.
By giving them an easy-to-use platform with interactive 3D and AR content, Assemblr EDU helps these educators deliver more engaging lessons without additional cost, prep time, or materials. A biology teacher can explore the human heart with her students, just like a teacher in Singapore-- no lab equipment required. A history teacher can walk students through ancient ruins without ever leaving the classroom.
For students, it means more equitable access to curiosity-sparking experiences that deepen understanding and increase motivation. For teachers, it means more confidence, creativity, and time saved. By reducing dependence on expensive tools and giving access to immersive content on any device, Assemblr EDU is closing the learning experience gap, one virtual model at a time.
