What specific problem are you solving?
In Bangladesh, over 300,000 ridesharing drivers and 350,000 commercial passenger three-wheeler operators struggle with high fuel costs, expensive vehicle rentals, and limited access to vehicle ownership. These drivers often lose 40-50% of their daily income to fuel expenses or rental fees, keeping them trapped in a cycle of financial instability.
The rising cost of fossil fuels and imported vehicles makes car ownership unattainable for most drivers. Meanwhile, urban air pollution is worsening, with transportation accounting for 25% of CO₂ emissions in Dhaka. The lack of affordable electric alternatives forces drivers to rely on inefficient, high-maintenance petrol and CNG vehicles, increasing both their costs and environmental impact.
Additionally, Bangladesh has severe infrastructure gaps for electric mobility, such as limited charging facilities and no structured financing options for electric vehicle adoption. Without intervention, these barriers will continue to slow the transition to clean, cost-effective transport.
By providing affordable, locally manufactured electric vehicles with smart financing options, lower maintenance costs, and battery-swapping infrastructure, we aim to break this cycle—helping drivers earn more, reduce emissions, and build a sustainable future for urban transport.
What is your solution?
Palki Electric Mobility is a locally designed and manufactured electric vehicle (EV) solution that empowers commercial drivers with affordable ownership, lower operating costs, and increased earnings. Our battery-powered passenger cars and electric pickups replace expensive, high-maintenance fossil fuel vehicles, cutting fuel expenses by 90% and maintenance costs by 50%.
Our EVs feature:
1. Swappable batteries for uninterrupted driving and reduced charging downtime.
2. Built-in smart charging with rapid charging capability.
3 . Optimized design for Bangladesh’s roads, ensuring durability and comfort.
4. Financing partnerships that enable drivers to own their vehicles instead of renting, boosting their income.
Additionally, we are developing a network of charging and battery-swapping stations to support seamless electric mobility, ensuring that drivers never face range anxiety. Our vehicles are built using locally manufactured body parts and chassis, making them 64% cheaper than imported alternatives and 12% more affordable than locally assembled options.
By replacing high-cost, high-emission vehicles with sustainable, cost-effective EVs, Palki Electric Mobility is creating a cleaner, more equitable future for Bangladesh’s transport sector.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Palki Electric Mobility serves ridesharing drivers, commercial passenger car operators, and last-mile delivery businesses in Bangladesh. These individuals rely on vehicles to earn a living but are burdened by high fuel costs, expensive rental fees, and limited access to affordable vehicle ownership.
Many drivers spend 40-50% of their daily income on fuel or rental costs, leaving them with little savings and no long-term financial security. Additionally, women and marginalized groups have limited opportunities in the commercial driving sector due to the lack of safe, comfortable, and affordable vehicle options.
Our electric passenger cars and pickups provide an affordable alternative that:
1. Cuts operating costs by 90% (compared to fossil fuel vehicles).
2. Increases take-home earnings by enabling ownership instead of rentals.
3. Reduces maintenance costs by 50%, ensuring long-term affordability.
4. Improves safety and comfort, making commercial driving more accessible to women.
5. Lowers CO₂ emissions, creating a cleaner, healthier urban environment.
By making EV ownership accessible, reducing costs, and building supportive infrastructure, Palki ElectricMobility helps drivers escape financial instability and transition toward a sustainable and profitable future in urban transport.
