What specific problem are you solving?
Our solution is a platform created by and for women in rural Poland. It is the only digital financial management tool in the country designed specifically for grassroots, women-led organizations such as Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich (KGWs)—a fast-growing network of over 12,000 legally recognized village-based groups deeply embedded in their communities.
Rural women in Poland face deep economic exclusion: limited access to employment, low digital skills, minimal exposure to digital tools, and traditional family roles. In addition, bureaucracy remains one of the biggest barriers preventing small organizations from accessing funding and growing. Our human-centered technology is designed to remove that barrier.
Our work also addresses Europe’s growing need for localized social services in the context of an aging population. KGWs are well-positioned to meet this need—they are trusted community members who already provide informal care. With our platform and mentoring, they can formalize their services, generate income, and create local jobs—without having to leave their villages or caregiving roles.
This is where technology meets systems change. By equipping women with tools and knowledge, we are unlocking sustainable economic prosperity where it’s needed most.
What is your solution?
UEPIK for KGW is an intuitive digital platform tailored for grassroots, women-led rural organizations (Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich, KGWs) in Poland. The platform streamlines financial management by automating essential accounting tasks, enabling real-time monitoring of finances, and automatically generating mandatory annual reports. This reduces manual errors by up to 80% and cuts administrative workload by 40%.
Built on secure, cloud-based web technologies, the solution integrates with government reporting systems and is designed specifically for users with low IT skills. In addition to the technology, we provide tailored training, one-on-one mentoring, and ongoing technical support to build digital and financial competencies.
As a nonprofit organization with no commercial agenda, we are trusted within the rural sector. Trust in technology grows through relationships, and our mentoring-first model ensures that women feel safe, supported, and empowered to take ownership of financial processes. This holistic approach strengthens local leadership, supports organizational stability, and unlocks new economic opportunities. Learn more about our work at: https://uepik-kgw2do2.org.pl
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution serves grassroots women leaders in rural Poland, primarily those leading Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich (KGWs)—community organizations located in villages of up to 5,000 residents. These leaders oversee groups ranging from 10 to 150 members and play a vital role in driving social and economic initiatives in their communities.
Despite their impact, they face systemic barriers: transportation exclusion, limited access to technology, low digital literacy, and scarce income opportunities. Bureaucracy and complex financial reporting—common issues for all Polish non-profits—are even more challenging for rural women with minimal support structures. Many experience leadership burnout or organizational stagnation within a few years.
Our solution is intentionally designed to address these realities. We offer tailored support from experienced female mentors and trainers, delivering trusted programs that develop leadership, task delegation, communication, and financial management. One-on-one onboarding ensures digital tools feel accessible, not intimidating—an approach rooted in our years of experience working with digitally excluded groups.
This holistic, trust-based model empowers women to not only lead more effectively but also transform their organizations into resilient, community-centered engines of economic inclusion and local development.
