What specific problem are you solving?
Education systems worldwide are plagued by teacher shortages, administrative overload, infrastructure gaps, and one-size-fits-all instruction that leave millions of learners behind. UNESCO estimates that 44 million more teachers are needed by 2030 to achieve universal primary and secondary education. Teacher attrition has nearly doubled in seven years, with 50% of educators reporting burnout. On average, teachers spend 20 to 30 percent of their time on administrative tasks instead of teaching, reducing time for lesson planning, feedback, and student engagement. At the same time, nearly 70% of ten-year-olds in low-income countries cannot read a basic sentence. Rigid curricula leave up to 80% of students unsupported in overcrowded classrooms. Even proven innovations struggle to scale. Pratham’s “Teaching at the Right Level,” which delivers just two hours of focused instruction daily, has led to 50% gains in literacy and numeracy. Emerging AI-driven schooling models such as the “2-hour schools” by Mackenzie Price are beginning to replicate this acceleration, but concerns around responsible use, cultural alignment, and safety continue to limit adoption and viability as a formal schooling alternative. The fundamental challenge remains: how can we deliver high-quality schooling at scale, especially in fragile, under-resourced communities? Our answer is enabling the world’s first generation of AI-native schools through Blended OS.
What is your solution?
Blended OS is the AI-native operating system for data-driven schools. It lets anyone launch and operate a school, whether formal, online, or microschool, without the traditional administrative burden. The platform unifies learning, administration, and communication into one intelligent ecosystem, making schooling more effective, efficient, and accessible. At its core is SphereAI, our universal schooling knowledge graph and cognitive architecture. It models academic standards, learner behavior, social dynamics, and content to power personalization, automation, and engagement at scale. SphereAI drives a fleet of intelligent agents, including Lumi, an AI Study Buddy that delivers contextual academic support, and our AI Productivity Toolkit for educators and administrators. These tools are already serving more than 7,000 users in 13 schools across students, teachers, and school staff, enabling personalized learning journeys, automated workflows, and a lightweight school operation. Blended OS is also built to function in low-connectivity environments. During the war in Sudan, we deployed it through the Diversity Project, helping over 1,000 displaced students continue their education during the war crisis. This proved that AI-powered schooling can deliver continuity at scale even in the most fragile contexts. Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Blended OS serves students, teachers, parents, school staff, and administrators, particularly in low-resource, crisis-affected, and underserved education systems across the Middle East and Africa. In Egypt, classrooms often exceed 130 students, with a national shortage of over 300,000 teachers. Similarly, Nigerian public schools face severe overcrowding, high student-to-teacher ratios, and limited infrastructure. Students benefit from Lumi, our pedagogically aligned AI Study Buddy, which identifies learning styles, maps academic interests, and boosts engagement through gamified experiences aligned with academic standards. It delivers contextual, culturally relevant support and improves learning outcomes by up to 1.6 times. Teachers save time through real-time AI-powered feedback, on-the-fly content generation, and automated grading and publishing workflows. Parents gain better visibility into their child’s learning and progress through integrated communication tools. Administrators and staff save up to 12 hours per week through smart scheduling, utilization reports, and paperless operations. Schools also reduce operating costs by 30 to 60 percent and can shift to hybrid or fully online delivery when needed. In Sudan, our Diversity Project supported over 1,000 displaced students during conflict. At the other end, Noon Online School uses Blended OS to offer full-time online education. To date, we have served over 7,000 users in 13 schools across varied educational contexts.
