What specific problem are you solving?
In Bogotá, approximately 37% of youth aged 18–32 are neither studying nor working, or are working informally. This limits their income, access to benefits, and long-term economic stability. Among employed youth, 32.5% remain in informal jobs, perpetuating inequality and reducing social mobility. Women, migrants, youth with limited education, and people over 50 face structural barriers such as discrimination based on age, gender, or nationality; lack of relevant, updated training; and weak links to companies that recognize their talent. There is also poor coordination between public programs (education, social services, employment) and actual labor market demands. This creates a critical gap in access to learning and job opportunities, affecting both social development and economic growth. Our solution addresses this systemic exclusion through an integrated model that combines practical training, AI-powered job matching, and strong public-private coordination. The goal is to ensure these populations access and retain formal employment aligned with their skills and aspirations contributing to a more human, efficient, and inclusive labor ecosystem.
What is your solution?
Our solution is a comprehensive youth employability model, developed in partnership with SDIS, Atenea, and Disruptia, that connects young people with formal, sustainable jobs through a digital platform powered by artificial intelligence. The process begins with a skills and gaps assessment, followed by personalized training in digital, socio-emotional, and employability skills tailored to market demands. Then, Disruptia’s platform performs an intelligent match between candidates and job openings, prioritizing affinities, values, and potential over formal credentials or prior experience. After placement, we provide ongoing support through a Mentor Bot and human mentors who guide participants through their first months on the job—boosting retention and long-term success. The platform uses matching algorithms, digital traceability, and data analytics to optimize each stage, support continuous learning, and scale the model. Impact to date: - 2,187 youth trained. - 553 formally employed, with an 80% retention rate. - Operations in 14 Youth Houses (Casas de la Juventud) across Bogotá. We are transforming how talent is connected to opportunity, breaking structural barriers and creating real pathways for historically excluded populations.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution targets youth aged 18 to 32 living in vulnerable conditions in Bogotá. Many lack formal work experience, have limited or interrupted educational backgrounds, and face barriers due to gender, migrant status, or socioeconomic challenges. They often live in areas with high unemployment and limited access to support networks or employers who recognize their potential. Currently, this population is underserved by traditional training and employment models that fail to adapt to their realities or provide effective inclusion opportunities. This disconnect perpetuates their exclusion from the formal labor market. Our solution bridges that gap through a comprehensive model that identifies young talent, trains them in digital, technical, and socio-emotional skills, and connects them with real job opportunities through an intelligent matching platform. It also provides personalized support during job placement and early employment stages. Impact story: Sandra, age 22, had never held a formal job. After six weeks of digital skills training, she was connected with a company. Eight months later, she has increased her income by 60% compared to her previous informal work. Stories like hers show how our solution transforms lives and creates real pathways to inclusion.
