What specific problem are you solving?
Mnyama Check is addressing a major problem faced by livestock farmers in Tanzania. Due to climate change, farmers are experiencing more frequent disease outbreaks, increased livestock mortality, and shortages of essential resources like water and grazing land. These challenges are compounded by limited access to veterinary services and the lack of real-time health data for livestock. As a result, farmers often rely on visible symptoms to assess their animals' health, which leads to delayed interventions and preventable losses.
In Tanzania, over 4.6 million households depend on livestock farming, yet many struggle with these issues, leading to annual losses of more than $150 million annually. Globally, livestock diseases result in $300 billion in losses every year, affecting food security and economies.our AI powered solution Mnyama Check offers a relief by providing farmers with real-time health monitoring for their livestock through smart sensors. This technology helps farmers detect diseases early, make informed decisions, and better manage their animals, also improving productivity and reducing the impact of climate change on their livelihoods
What is your solution?
Mnyama Check is AI powered digital platform that helps livestock farmers monitor the health of their animals in real time. It uses smart ear tag sensors that are attached to the animals ear to collect data on their health, activity, and environmental conditions. These sensors track vital signs such as body temperature, respiration, movement, and feeding patterns, allowing farmers to detect early signs of disease or stress in their livestock and also help farmers to diagnose reproductive status of animals.
The data collected by the sensors is sent to the Mnyama Check platform, where it is analyzed and presented to farmers through a user-friendly app and web. Farmers can easily access information on the health and well-being of their animals, receive alerts about potential issues, and make timely decisions to prevent disease outbreaks or losses, breeding and feeding behaviors .
Through providing farmers with accurate, real-time data, our solution Mnyama Check enables them to take proactive steps in managing their livestock, improving productivity, and reducing losses caused by climate change, disease, or inadequate veterinary care. Our technology is designed to be simple, affordable, and accessible, especially for smallholder farmers.
