In many African communities, the story is the same: brilliant, driven young people full of potential — but with limited access to the skills, opportunities, and tools they need to succeed in a digital world. While over 60% of sub-Saharan Africa’s population is under 25, youth unemployment remains staggeringly high, with more than 40% unable to find meaningful work. At the same time, the global workforce is facing a massive talent gap. It’s estimated that by 2030, over 85 million jobs could go unfilled due to a shortage of skilled professionals. The opportunity is clear — but the bridge is missing. Gide by The Roothub is building that bridge. Our AI-powered platform helps young Africans gain in-demand digital skills, get certified, match with remote jobs, and receive seamless global payments — all in one place. We’re not just helping them find work — we’re helping them build futures. Because talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t. Gide exists to change that — and help Africa’s youth finally eat the fruits of their labour by addressing the disconnect between digital skills, global job opportunities, and accessible payment systems solutions.

Gide by The Roothub is a smart, AI-powered platform built to help young people across Africa gain digital skills, find remote jobs, and get paid — all in one place. It’s designed to make remote work actually work for African talent. Here’s how it works: You start by signing up and picking a digital skill you want to learn — whether it’s design, data analysis, marketing, or skills that’s in demand. The courses are practical, self-paced, and tailored to what employers are actually looking for. Once you complete a course, you earn a certification to show you’re job-ready. From there, Gide’s AI steps in. It matches you with real remote job opportunities that fit your skills and interests. Whether it’s freelance gigs or long-term roles, you’re connected directly with companies looking for talent like yours. And once the work is done, Gide helps make sure you get paid- safely, securely, and in a way that works with local financial systems. Behind the scenes, Gide uses artificial intelligence for smart matching, automation to streamline learning and job placement, and fintech integrations to handle cross-border payments with ease.

Gide is designed for Africa’s youth — a group that makes up over 60% of the continent’s population, with the median age just 19.5 years. Our target users are 18–35-year-olds: university students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals across urban and semi-urban areas, many of whom are unemployed or underemployed despite having basic education and access to smartphones or the internet. In Nigeria alone, youth unemployment stands at over 40%, and similar patterns exist in Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, and beyond. These young people are ambitious, tech-aware, and eager to work — but they lack the digital skills, job access, and global payment systems to participate in the remote work economy. Gide meets them where they are. We offer AI-guided learning paths in high-demand skills like design, data, writing, and marketing, helping users learn at their own pace. Once certified, they’re matched with vetted remote job opportunities, and we ensure they get paid smoothly across borders using local and international payment solutions. With Gide, Africa’s youth no longer have to wait for traditional systems to catch up. They can build careers, earn globally, and unlock the digital economy from wherever they are — truly eating the fruits of their labor.
