What specific problem are you solving?
Climate change is causing extreme weather droughts, heat waves, and famine affecting vulnerable communities. A critical gap is the lack of accessible, affordable, and scalable solutions for carbon sequestration and sustainable land management that empower farmers and local communities, especially in northern Uganda.

FarmYo is a tech-enabled platform that combines AI, satellite imagery, and blockchain to empower smallholder farmers to adopt regenerative agricultural practices that sequester carbon, improve soil health, and increase crop yields. The platform provides farmers with real-time insights, carbon credit monetization, and access to global markets.

Target Population:
FarmYo serves smallholder farmers in Uganda, particularly those in Northern Regions areas who rely on subsistence farming for their livelihoods. These farmers, often women and youth, face challenges such as soil degradation, low crop yields, and limited access to markets and technology. They are disproportionately affected by climate change, experiencing erratic weather patterns, droughts, and heat waves that threaten food security and income.
How the Solution Impacts Their Lives:
FarmYo empowers farmers by providing AI-driven insights, training in regenerative practices, and access to carbon credit markets. By adopting practices like agroforestry and cover cropping, farmers restore soil health, increase yields, and earn additional income through carbon credits. The platform also offers microloans and localized training to ensure inclusivity. This transforms farmers into climate champions, improving their livelihoods, food security, and resilience to climate change while restoring ecosystems.
